This recently renovated two bedroom bungalow is perfect for those looking for a countryside escape. Hillview House is a perfect base for touring all that Connemara has to offer.
Open plan living and dining area, tiled flooring, a 3 seater couch and arm chair, stove fire, TV with Saorview channels and a large dining table seating upto 4 guests.
The gallery styled kitchen is fully equipped with fridge freezer, microwave, oven and ceramic hob and washing machine.
Bedrooms:
Bedroom 1: Double & single bed with built in wardrobe and free standing wardrobe.
Bedroom 2: Single bedroom
Bathroom: Shower, sink and WC.
Linen & Towels are inclusive in the rental rate.
Please note that €100 security deposit is required upon arrival. As long as there are no breakages or damage to the property this will be refunded on departure.

Summary: Good stay. Martin is sympa and take care their hosts. The house is very close to Connemara Park (10-15 minutes road).

Summary: We had a wonderful stay at Hillview House. It is in the perfect location and we were able to explore the area without ever being too far from our base. The house itself was clean and cosy, especially when the stove was lit. Highly recommended!

Summary: I had a comfortable stay at Hillview. The house was clean and warm. Jeanie responded very quickly to any questions/requests. The views are beautiful as it sits between 2 of those gorgeous Connemara mountains. Few min walk to village.

Summary: The property is in excellent condition and is very comfortable. I would have appreciated a starter pack of teabags, milk and bread as if you are late arriving it is not ideal to get to the local shop

Summary: We spent a lovely week at this property hosted by Jeannie & Martin. We were greeted by Jeannie and given a quick explanation of how everything worked etc & things to do in the surrounding area. The turf was already burning high in the stove for our arrival and was replenished willingly throughout the week. Lovely, clean and well equipped property tending to all our needs A great location, barely a 5min walk to the 2 local pubs, a restaurant, small shop & a couple of cafes all overlooking Killary Fjord and its magnificent surrounding scenery. Easy to access Westport to the north & Galway to the south. We hugged the Wild Atlantic Way coastline & beaches most days. We did bring our 2 dogs as the website we booked on said 'Pet Friendly property'. I have since noticed that most of the other websites for this property say 'No Pets Allowed', so I would err on the side of caution & not bring pets without prior agreement as Jeannie was unaware from our booking with Connemara Holiday Bookings that we had dogs coming with us but accommodated us graciously nonetheless. Highly recommend this property without hesitation.

Summary: We spent a very nice week at Hillview House. The owner was very caring, and provided us with turf for the stove, which made our evenings very enjoyable, even if the larger bedroom remained a bit colder. Being able to walk to the beautiful Killary Harbour and to the local pubs was definitely a plus. The Wifi connection was very good. The only thing that could be improved is the number of dishes (especially plates and bowls). We managed with what was available, but it would be easier to have a bit more. The bathroom washbasin is also a bit small, but it's OK for a holiday, especially as the shower is spacious and convenient to use. The location is perfect to explore this wonderful area, and we hope to stay there again in the future!

Summary: We loved our stay at Hillview House in Leenane. Upon arrival we were greeted by our terrific host Jeannie, who had already made sure the house was nice and warm. It has a nice fireplace, plenty of space to cook and all the facilities we needed to have a great time over Christmas. It is also at a walking distance from the pubs and restaurants in the town of Leenane, located perfectly in the hills of Connemara. From Leenane you have great views over the Killary Fjord and you'll find a couple of nice spots for a pint and/or lunch/dinner. Within a few minutes' drive, you'll be at the Kylemore Abbey or other beautiful locations like the Connemara National Park. Would highly recommend staying here!

Summary: The owners, location, parking and wifi were great. We found the smell in the bedrooms overpowering, we think it was due to the chimneys needing a sweep. The wind had also got up so that didn't help. The second bedroom smelt damp. The kitchen was compact but we were only there for a week so got used to it. As others have stated, the bathroom was quite large. We were assured we could light the stove in the sitting room but thought that it may contribute to the smell that was already there. Overall it was comfortable but we wouldn't stay there again. The couple who owned it were really friendly.
