Positive: A truly authentic Japanese ryokan with very friendly staff two minutes from the train station. The breakfast was exceptional, and the onsen a must! Highly recommending it in Iseshi!

Positive: Disappointing stay in this popular ryokan in Ise. Location is good (next to the station).

Negative: I've stayed in old japanese ryokans and of course the charm of the building is great. However, this one jn need of some maintenance and the smell of humidity/moisture really bothered me (staff was kind to change my room, the second one a little less stuffy than the first but still smelly), rooms not very bright, window opening to a back wall. Shared bathrooms never very clean for JP standards. Breakfast not great. Maybe I got the worst rooms, being a solo customer bur overall a huge disappointment.
