Summary: We had a lovely week at the lake house. The house was spacious and clean, the area was quiet and tranquil, the amenities were great and comms with the owner was quick and informative. Would definitely recommend if you’re looking for a quiet retreat outside the city and will definitely stay here again!

Summary: My wife and I spent 6 weeks at the the Red Cottage on the Lake. Great location close to shopping, easy drive into Seattle and a relaxing neighborhood that allowed for daily walks with our dog around the lake. David is a great host who was friendly and responsive to all communications. The small office and high speed internet was perfect for remote working. Will definitely return when visiting the PNW!

Summary: Our stay at the Lake Kathleen Red Cottage was everything we’d hoped and so much more! Hosts David and Kristianne are great communicators and very responsive hosts, who take great pride in sharing their very special, historic lake home. They have been careful to preserve its historic beauty while updating with perfect taste and focusing the decor on the serenity of the lake setting. There were ample supplies for our one month stay, Toiletries and little extras made our visit very comfortable. They even provide wrapped toothbrushes in case they are forgotten. Not mentioned in the listing is a dedicated workspace on the main level, with internet connectivity, that was perfect for one of us to work remotely. All the living spaces were comfortable and spacious. There’s plenty to enjoy right at the cottage! Walks and rowing on the lake, cornhole, board games and foosball are provided, winery visits are in walking distance on the weekends, and relaxation with beautiful lake views from the deck, and forest views from the spacious back deck and lawn, with a great bbq grill! Deer visited regularly and we saw bald eagles, herons, raccoons, beavers and resident squirrels. There is also so much to do and see in the area that we couldn’t fit it all in! David and Kristianne provided great tips on hiking in the area, and we also enjoyed shopping and exploring in Issaquah and surroundings. Don’t miss the chance to spend a few days or weeks at the very special Red Cottage!

Summary: My wife and I had such a lovely time staying this cozy and inviting Red Cottage. We came to Renton for a family reunion, and what we didn’t expect was to find a home away from home. We loved the incredible evening views of Lake Kathleen from the living room balcony, watching the sunset and listening to crickets and frogs happily chirp into the night. Coffee provided by the host was a thoughtful surprise, paired with quiet morning strolls through the neighborhood that offered us a serene way to charge up before our daily activities. We also loved reading about the history of the cottage, and seeing the picture of the original owners on display in the dining room. We will definitely rebook and even plan to stay longer in the future! Bonus perks were the friendly people we met at the neighboring bar and grill (Doofers) just up the road, and easy access to the light rail for bypassing the highway and getting into Seattle for the day.

Summary: We were looking for a retreat for our family and this cottage was just what we needed. Such an idyllic setting!
