A hidden gem in the Tuscan rolling countryside, raised 350 metres above sea level, Le Carbonaia an apartment within Polle di Meletro, also known as "Il borgo della pace" with its fantastic panoramic terrace, woodlands and enviable position, resides near the small medieval village of Rivalto. With stunning views down the Valdera valley, the prominent location of the villa has maintained a sense of timelessness, peace and tranquillity. It is an oasis of calmness and harmony in which to indulge yourself and relax, but yet it is only 40 minutes’ drive from Pisa airport.. The villa is surrounded by fertile soil that produces a range of superior vegetables, fruits and wine. The nearby fields are host to vineyards, olive groves, fruit trees and cereals, whilst the wooded hills are home to the famous ‘Rivalto’ Chestnut along with a rich selection of flora and fauna.
Based on the ground floor of the villa, La Carbonaia has a large personal terrace, equipped with a table, chairs, umbrella and a BBQ. The villa also has an external large wood burning pizza oven for the use of guests.Guests have access to the swimming pool a further terrace and a sauna.
An ideal family apartment, affording space and comfort. It is named after a waterfall in Chianni, Botro of Carbonaia, or ice-flow, water that comes directly from deep in the hills of Chainni and even during the hot Tuscan summer, the water always remains icy cold. A large sitting room with a large kitchen area, with a fully equipped kitchen is situated at the far end of the room. There is a large dining table with chairs that can comfortably seat four people in the middle of the room. Near the entrance to the apartment is the lounge area, comprising of a large sofa that can be made into double bed, additional chairs, a fire place and a large screen TV.
The room has typical Tuscan features which includes, wooden beams and exposed stonework. There is a private terrace with garden furniture, BBQ and clothes drying area.
Off the large sitting room is one bedroom with a queen sized four poster bed. The tiled bathroom has a toilet, bidet, large glass hand basin and a large walk-in shower. Linen and towels are provided.
The nearest beach is about 28 Km away. Chianni is 3 Km away and has a wide variety of shops, cafes, Bank ATM and post office. The villa is located close to many famous Tuscan landmarks.The città d’arte include Volterra, San Gimignano, Palaia and Florence making this a perfect base to explore the whole of Tuscany. Please note that the villa can only be reached via a road that has not been surfaced (gravel path of about 800 metres).
