Positive: Very old village inn with friendly hosts. Nice real fire, most welcome on a chilly September evening.

Negative: Bathroom window overlooking the yard with no privacy glass only a blind that needed to be kept shut all the time. Street food nicely cooked, however it was a choice of three curries, that personally was way to hot

Positive: The location was ideal for exploring the kielder forest

Negative: Chose the inn because it had a restaurant which we were told on arrival was closed on the Monday. Food served sunday night was mediocre . Not a dog hater but having to have breakfast and evening meal surrounded by dogs wasn't pleasant . Also when in room trying yo unwind coukd hear dogs barking at each other in the bar .

Positive: I've never before met such lovely friendly and helpful people. The Manageress went way beyond on helping find a place to eat and arrange taxi's. Plus made us a takeaway breakfast as we had to leave early.

Negative: Nothing

Summary: Highly recommend, lovely owners, the food was fabulous - particularly the chocolate pudding AMAZING

Positive: This hotel is small, clean cottage. It has everything in the rooms that you would need. The breakfast was second to none. The family that runs the hotel and pub is lovely, they make you feel like family. They went out of their way to help us, even gave us a lift to a wedding we were going to. Nothing is a bother for them.
