Homewood cottage is situated in a private garden behind the main homestead “Homewood”. Homewood was built in 1876 by Dr Thomas Fletcher and was the original farm house in the area. The cottage was built in the early 1900s when the property was owned by George Alley a well know philanthropist. Guests can enjoy the private lawn and garden around the cottage, and wander down the hedgerow to the pond overlooking the Tauranga harbour.

Summary: We had a lovely break in this little rural cottage - nicely presented in a good location. We were a little put off by the robotic lawnmower that woke us up at 12.30am and 5.30am on two nights - this thankfully stopped when it got stuck and we were able to sleep peacefully.

Summary: The cottage is in a beautiful setting. Bianca and Simon were very welcoming and helpful. We would have preferred more furniture in the bedrooms so we could have put our clothes other than on the floor. We were woken by the robot lawn mower one night and were unable to contact the hosts at about 11.30pm we endured this for about an hour before being able to guide the machine away from where it recharge.. My wife has a major sleeping problem and was stressed by this event and has been unable to sleep more than a few hours each night since. The cottage is very quiet other than this unfortunate event and set in tranquil and lovely location.
