Hooper Hill Guest House sits on 10 incredible acres in the heart of the Columbia River Gorge. Ivan has designed and built a place with a rustic cabin feel on the outside, with a lodge feel on the inside.
The large chef's kitchen and the open layout lends itself to gatherings; the private location lends itself to romantic getaways.
Enjoy the view from the treehouse of the Columbia River, Portland, and the Coastal mountains, and watch one of the SPECTACULAR sunsets.
Natural grass stage and amphitheater seating for 100+
Sleeps up to 14 people (200+ camping for special events)
The house is an open layout with no room dividers; a welcoming gathering space.
THIS IS NOT A PLACE FOR A FRAT PARTY!!! Underage drinking will be reported.
When I bought this place, it was literally a junkyard, with dozens of rusted out cars spread around everywhere. I've spent the last 20 years cleaning it up in my spare time, and with my spare cash. This is my favorite place in the world. I want you to feel that way when you are here too. If you don't see something you might want, feel free to ask me any questions.

Summary: Quiet, spacious, amazing amenities with a warm and welcoming host. All the feel of a mountain getaway yet with a close proximity to town and Portland. All the things you need to prepare any and all meals and a nice sound system to set the mood. Can’t recommend this place enough.

Summary: Ivan and Heather met us at check in and gave us a tour/history of the property. They were flexible to last minute changes in number of people which we appreciated greatly. We then had a great weekend using the hot tub, seeing sunset views from the treehouse, and enjoying using the large kitchen to make pizzas. Would recommend staying here.

Summary: We stayed a too-short week at Ivan’s amazing and very private property. Built on a stunning open plan, it is best for groups of friends or families with older children who keep similar sleeping schedules. We loved watching the stars from the hot tub at night and picking quarts of ripe blackberries from his extensive plantings. The extremely spacious and designer-inspired but welcoming kitchen is fully equipped. It is very convenient not only for the spectacular sights of both sides of the gorge, but also to historic Camas, Vancouver, and Portland with their array of shopping and restaurants. Though close to those urban amenities, you feel you are miles away once you ascend his long and winding driveway. The sunset views from the tree house were another treat! A very special place that was hard to leave behind.

Summary: Ivan was such a great host and responded quickly to any questions we had. The property is absolutely beautiful inside and out. Such a wonderful location and the home is extremely comfortable and well thought out. The kitchen is immaculate and a pleasure to cook in because of the space, top of the line appliances, as well as having every kitchen utensil available you would ever need. I would highly recommend this property to anyone looking for a cool and cozy place to stay... :)
