Summary: The hotel is terrific. I saw some negative reviews complaining about the area, but it's a typical small city downtown; and other negative reviews with complaints about shabby rooms or unworking elevators. We didn't have any of those problems, which isn't to say we didn't simply luck out. The hotel, the lobby, the little library, they all have that classic old school feel that you usually don't find in this price range (or if you do, it's usually at a rundown place where the pipes are dodgy, the AC doesn't work, etc). The room was terrific; we got one with a soaking tub, and it was exactly what we were hoping for. We weren't originally planning on eating in the hotel restaurant, Char, but our drinks in the lobby while waiting for our room to be ready were good enough that we decided to try it out, and it was worthwhile. The problems were with service, unfortunately. Everyone was very friendly, and the valets were great. But the front desk dropped the ball twice in our short 20 hour stay. We arrived 4 hours before check in time, and they said they'd call or text us when our room was ready, and hold our luggage until then. No problem! But when check-in time came and went, we'd heard nothing, only to find out the room had been ready and no one had reached out. Worse, they only brought us 2 of our 7 bags. We were able to find the others (one of which was a medical device), but they hadn't tagged them or made any note of them, which was troubling.

Summary: Large king room, funky vibe. The fridge didn’t cool and the adjustment was non-functional; the clock was stuck at 6:23. But it was a great stay and the hotel has an old-school meets modern vibe - and we weee vibing!

Summary: Refrigerator did not work, a second on was brought in and it took away space. Microwave on request was dropped off and placed on top of the desk area. No linens provided for the pullout and the couch had a odor to it. Electrical plugs in were faulty and a fire hazard, outlets would spark when something was plugged in. Thick layer of dust on the non working refrigerator as well. Non working I’ve machine on the entire floor, had to call front desk for ice. Not worth the $250 price we paid.

Summary: Beautiful historic hotel. I did a staycation and I throughly enjoyed it. I felt safe in downtown Albuquerque. I kinda wish there were fans in the bathrooms but buildings had different codes when this was was built. One of the elevators was not working when I got there but it was fixed the next day which shows they're on top of things. The rooftop bar and lounge on the 2nd floor is nice. I'll be back just for that. Very helpful and kind staff.
