Positive: We were greeted with pieces of fresh fruit and chocolates in our room, which was appreciated after a day of traveling to the hotel. The space was a nice size, making it easy for us to settle in and feel at home. Our closet & shelving arrangement was helpful for staying organized while traveling with bulky winter clothes. The hotel also left a little bag of fruits & candies on our door handle for St Nicholas Day which was a lovely surprise to find that morning. Attention to these & other small details like chocolate covered espresso beans by the coffee maker and an extremely helpful luggage porter at checkout, made our stay comfortable!
Negative: No breakfast included at the rate we paid! It was a very high price & breakfast should have been included. This small investment by the hotel would pay great dividends in guest satisfaction.
Summary: Would stay again if breakfast was included at the price we paid.

Positive: This hotel is in an ideal location for absolutely everything in the centre of Munich or to be able to get to other places. The building is luxurious. There was a huge selection of breakfast items. Everything was presented beautifully and was fresh. A chef was on hand to cook to your specific requirements if need be. The room was clean and a good size, looking out to the square at the front of the hotel, where Christmas lights could be seen. The staff were friendly and professional. The concierge were very helpful in booking trips and giving helpful information. The variety of restaurants and bars within the hotel itself were exceptional. You didn’t need to leave the hotel if you wanted to try a different place each night! The roof top bar was comfortable and looked out on the roof tops of the city close by. All the venues within the hotel were fabulous. We particularly enjoyed the Polynesian restaurant, Trader Vics and their choice of food and cocktails. Also Faulks bar. We would definitely stay here again. But after reception has been completed.
Negative: The breakfast was expensive, per person. If we were glutinous then you could have got your moneys worth. However, just having a normal portion, some days eating very little, made it a huge expense and we would probably have been better going outside of the hotel to make it more cost effective. However, saying that you don’t come to this hotel if you can’t afford to! We used housekeeping to clean 2 pairs of trousers. One pair came back still really damp and had to then be dried on the towel rail before they were fit to wear. The hair dryer didn’t work properly, it took our whole stay to get a replacement the day before we were leaving. Also, there was no mirror in the room itself, and no full length mirror. Concierge said they could put one in but why was it not there already, for this standard of hotel I would expect one in the room and not have to ask for one to be brought. We used the Bavarian restaurant, after a recommendation from concierge, expecting a little more variety on the menu than there was. We waiting 1.5 hours to get our meal. We had been forgotten about! One of the meals was very salty. No discount was offered. The hotel was undergoing renovations to the reception, which understandably altered the experience of this hotel. The lift would take longer than usual as one of the stairways was out of action. However…we would definitely stay here again despite our ‘niggles’.
