Positive: Amazing view on the picturesque Alps and green hills around. One of the most scenic breakfast locations I've ever experienced! Quite clean and tidy. The village of Wilderswill is insanely cute and peaceful and yet it's literally a couple of minutes' drive/train ride from Interlaken, Iseltwald, Lauterbrunnen and some other epic locations of the Jungfrau region, which makes it a perfect base camp for a few days of the region exploration. Great that they give you the Interlaken guestcard, which enables you to get to Interlaken and back free of charge by a local train, which is just a 20 min walk from the property. Car park is free for all the guests of the hotel. Extremely nice and friendly front desk manager lady, who was always eager to help and beamed with positivity and kindness. Fantastic that the hotel management factored in the fact that our wedding anniversary was exactly at the time of our stay and kindly decorated the room for the occasion. Super sweet!
Negative: The price - quality ratio was definitely not met in case of this specific property. The room was visibly in need for renovation. There was no fridge to store food, which was quite important as we stayed there for a week. The safe was out of order. There was no AC, just an old fan. Some parts of the furniture were coming off. There were Wifi issues early morning and later evening, when all the guests were plugged in at the same time. Once there was no hot water for a few hours in the morning, when we were prepping to head out and explore one of the locations. Despite the fact that the cleaning lady promised to get it fixed within minutes, hot water wasn't there and my husband had to shower in the cold water. Swimming pool is only warmed a few degrees, which makes it almost unusable for most of the time even in summer, since up in the mountains the temperature is almost never too hot to get the water warm enough. During the entire week of out stay, we were only able to swim once and it was still super chilly even though the day was quite hot. Breakfasts for sure lack diversity - same food every single day. Food itself isn't bad, there are even a few types of Swiss cheese to taste, and yet if you stay for a week, it's pretty monotonous. The hotel is visibly understaffed, which influences significantly the comfort of guests. Pillows were not really comfortable either. All in all, none of this would matter that much, unless the hotel was so expensive. For that kind of pricing policy, you would demand a flawless quality of a stay, which I hate to conclude, definitely wasn't the case of Berghoff Amarant.

Positive: The front desk was very helpful and friendly. The views are amazing - even in bad weather as I was unfortunate to have. The breakfast buffet was quite large and a good start to my day. The entire town of Widerswil is very cute and the walk up to the hotel passes lots of beautiful traditional houses
Negative: As I have seen other comment on, the rooms are indeed dated. Not that they are run down or dirty. They’re just not modern. Not a deal breaker for me but it wouldn’t hurt with an upgrade and maybe install key cards.
Summary: Countryside hotel with amazing views

Positive: Stunning location, amazing to swim in the pool looking at the mountains with the distant chiming of cowbells! Great choice at breakfast set us up for the day, very friendly and helpful receptionist on arrival, large family room with balcony gave us plenty of space. Playground and table tennis table an added bonus. Loved the quiet village of Wilderswil, perfect for train links to Interlaken and beyond, or into the valleys south. The last part of the walk up to the hotel from the station is a bracing challenge especially after a long day out in the mountains, but certainly kept us fit! Would definitely stay here again.
Negative: The bathroom could do with a bit of an update, but everything worked and was clean, so wasn’t an issue. Pool temperature varied considerably, was so cold on last day we gave up, but had enjoyed it the rest of the week.
Summary: Fabulous quiet location with spectacular views, beautiful pool and great breakfast

Positive: The location of the hotel is unreal, perfectly situation is picturesque Wilderswil on the edge of the Jungfrau. The rooms are basic but clean and comfortable. The staff were friendly and helpful.
Negative: The properties overall could do with a little bit of love and modernisation and the breakfast was average at best.
Summary: Pricey and perhaps not value for money but pleasant hotel perfectly located to explore the region
