Positive: Lovely, landscaped property, Hotel Caparena is out of another time. Could picture celebrities staying there in the 60’s & 70’s. Very fun and we loved how they have maintained the “glam”.
Negative: The carpeting is a bit too faded throughout.

Positive: Absolutely beautiful property. Loved being along the water. The free shuttle service was excellent, right on time every time! While I am pleased with the hotel overall, I do wish something could’ve been done to alleviate all the bees and mosquitoes that were there. We couldn’t be outside to enjoy the property because there were too many around, but I guess that just comes with being near the water and having so many beautiful flowers on the property. We would’ve enjoyed it more if they were not buzzing around so much.

Summary: Excellent front desk staff, very attentive. Just wish there weren’t so many bees and mosquitoes.

Positive: The location, sea view, free shuttle service to Taormina.
Negative: We were very disappointed that the hotel did not inform us in advance about a large conference and a wedding taking place during our stay. The property was extremely busy with event guests, which significantly limited our ability to use many of the facilities. If the hotel is hosting such major events, guests should either be notified beforehand or offered a discount to reflect the reduced access. On top of this, we were travelling with a baby and experienced loud music until 3am, which meant we were awake for most of the night. Several areas of the hotel were also closed off for these events, further restricting our experience. This fell short of the standards we expect from a stay at your property. Furthermore, the hotel also needs a clear renovation.

Positive: The shuttle bus is excellent and the drivers really helpful. Our premium room was also very comfortable with a great review over the sea. Bed big and comfortable and well appointed. The hotel location with private beach is also excellent. Everything very clean and breakfast excellent with well cooked food and well presented location
Negative: We were disappointed with a number of aspects. Below premium standard the rooms are disappointing. Owing to an error in our booking we were required to check out of our premium room a day early. We had stayed for 5 nights. On numerous occasions we had to ask for replacement water, coffee pods and instant coffee/tea and milk. Staff never replenished these even though we spoke directly to reception and duty managers. Although a premium room it was never a premium service. With the free car parking beware! it's all very tight with little space for safe parking. High risk of you denting cards and for your hire cars being dented. Bit of a nightmate finding spaces. Good luck! Generally needs some new lifts and a bit of refurb. Tired carpeting and an outside pool thats very traditional. Beach pebbly with a wee bit of a surprise in that you have to pay 15 euros to be nearest the sea. You also need to pay a premium for drinking a beach drink in a special area. Didnt feel very inclusive. Also a 3 euro charge is lumped on for a fresh yellow beach towel. Not expected at all for what we thought would be a premium hotel. Finally the change in room for a final night was very disappointing. I was not contacted on my phone until 1.45pm following a checkout time of 11am to say that we were due to check out. It was my mistake. We were then felt hounded as the duty manager and staff waited outside our room for the key and to clean for the new inhabitants. Although there was an apology it was clear the priority now was for the new guests. Really quite rude and quite an eye opener. For a downgraded room they initially asked for 300 euros for 1 night. unbelievable when you consider not premium, with paper cups and a toilet the height for a child. Reception staff and Duty Manager too no interest in what was fair and very relevant feedback. We therefore left feeling very let down and wont be returning to any hotels in the chain
