Summary: Ours was a short stay of 1 night but overall we were happy with the experience. Hotel was conveniently located to centre of town.

Summary: While a little "worn around the edges", this hotel is very pleasant. The staff are very friendly and helpful. Bed comfort is very good. We discovered a good bistro down the road - the midi-minuit - which actually closes at 10:30 (bizarre given the name). Looked at Georges bistro but was overcrowded and too noisy. If you arrive late, parking is free in the street.

Summary: I had a bad experience at this hotel with noise and cleanliness; to their credit, the staff made it right by letting me out of 3 of the 4 nights I had prepaid, so kudos to them. Still, it wasn't what I expected from their marketing material. It was more of a motor lodge in character. Also, the area is probably fine if you're there for the convention center, but access to any other part of the city requires a stroll from Part Dieu, the train station - sketchy at best.

Summary: Hotel rooms are run down and breakfast is like at faulty towers. On the bright staff all the staff are very friendly and accommodating.

Summary: The Hotel was fabulous, clean and easy to reach. We loved our room with a great view, a hot bath and a strong WIFI signal. And what made the hotel even more special was the ladies at the reception: warm, kind, welcoming and helpful. Thanks Hotel Charlemagne by Happy Culture for a great stay in splendid Lyon.

Summary: Nice hotel, comfortably located next to two Tram stops that could take you anywhere in the city. But overall NOT a 4 star experience. We bought a superior room which was not that superior with an air conditioning system that is from the past century because terribly noisy, and although warned by a clear and noticeable sign inside the elevator, a nightmarish experience for breakfast with a waiting line to be seated that took ages and work overrun personnel that couldn't have time to be nice and accommodate us the best of ways (although they surely tried).
