Positive: The property was very comfortable and nice. We had a much better experience with the morning staff then the evening staff when we arrived. The morning staff were very hospitable, sweet and provide an excellent breakfast. They also wished us a happy wedding anniversary before we departed.

Negative: The male receptionist, in the evening for Chek-in, claimed he tried to contact us multiple times by phone, text, and WhatsApp about our dinner plans, but we showed him we received nothing (only messages from Booking.com). We had already confirmed our arrival time through the Booking.com app and were told arriving 10 minutes after the last dinner seating would not be an issue unless we arrived later than that, which is reasonable and understandable, and then they could not seat us. Instead of this male receptionist offering a solution, he blamed us in front of other guests and told us there was no food available in the village after 7pm. He said we would need to drive to the nearest town for options like a frituur or döner kebab. Since we checked in at 19:10, he could have easily offered a simple solution, such as an appetizer or small snack, so we wouldn’t go to bed hungry. Instead, we ended up with no dinner at all. Even though we asked if the restaurant could provide us a small appetizer plate. This was especially disappointing as we were celebrating our 21st wedding anniversary, which he was aware of.

Positive: The rooms were small but clean and tidy. Most things worked very well. Just one light not working. Breakfast and dinner were excellent. The location is very good. The people very nice. Also the beer and wine with dinner were very good. The car park is close. We had a GREAT time ! Oh the room was warm also. Very nice small hotel.

Negative: I put the sign on my door to have the room cleaned, it was not cleaned, so I had wet towels etc. As the sign for the door is the same colour i think the cleaner just did not read the sign properly. Stairs a little hard for my dad to get up.

Summary: 2 rooms - stayed with my 82 year old father for the 80th Anniversary of the Liberation of Pan Heel.

Positive: Interior design is so white house and cozy room makes urself at home. Great location and lots of street lamps welcome you upon your late arrival.

Positive: The warm welcome by, I think it was, the manager or owner. The beautiful christmas decorations throughout the hotel and restaurant. We enjoyed a lovely meal, a delicious local dish call zoervleisj (meat stew) paired with a nice bottle of red. The rooms were clean and functional room with comfy beds. Thorn is a picturesque little town with an interesting history. We stayed here on our way to the Cĥristmas market in Monschau. It is very conveniently located as it is close to Maastricht and Roermond as well. We'll be coming back for sure.
