Positive: The area is beautiful, nestled in the forest. I lived next to the hotel so it is a nostalgic place.

Negative: I paid extra for a room advertised with air conditioning, but it turned out to be an old portable air cooler rather than actual air conditioning. I specifically requested a quiet room, and the staff confirmed this request would be accommodated. Unfortunately, I was unable to sleep because of a party and repeatedly slamming doors. The hotel feels outdated. Overall, the experience gave the impression of a hotel focused more on maximizing additional charges than on guest comfort, hospitality, or service.

Negative: Rooms had thin walls, noisy. Beds were soft and seemed like hammocks. Breakfast was not orderly, staff was very passive (language?). Expensive for what you get.

Positive: Excellent location on the edge of Oosterbeek, with easy access to the surrounding woods and to the 1944 1st AB Div Oosterbeek perimeter locations. Plenty of good places to eat nearby. The hotel is in lovely grounds, with plenty of space for parking. Inside, the main area of the hotel is pleasantly spacious and comfortable. The staff we dealt with ranged from pleasant and fine to very friendly and helpful, so overall a good experience. Breakfast was good; plenty of choice and options to eat indoors (in air-conditioned rooms) or outside on the (smoke-free) terrace. I would have liked the option of decaffeinated coffee at breakfast but wasn’t concerned enough to ask, so suspect I could have had it. We didn’t have lunch or dinner, so can’t comment on the options. We had two rooms; initially a very nice room at the front of the hotel with a balcony; very comfortable. We asked to move for our second night due to the temperature (above 30 degrees C). The staff member we dealt with in this matter was extremely helpful and we got another room; this wasn’t actually as good as the first room overall (still had balcony, but not as good a view) but was perfectly fine and, in the heat, the aircon made it much more comfortable, so a genuine upgrade! There is a gym and swimming pool but we don’t have time to use these, so can’t comment.

Negative: Given the standard of the hotel, I am surprised that not all rooms have refrigerators and safes (our second room did have a safe). Also, as other reviews have mentioned, some of the decor is in need of an update. We had peeling wallpaper in our first bathroom. Nevertheless, I would stay again as the pluses outweighed the minuses.

Summary: Good quality hotel with very good staff; only just misses being excellent.

Positive: As a frequent guest, I always return to this hotel for its charm, its location, and exceptional value for money. The new rooms are a serious upgrade, and it places the hotel in a different league. The rooms are comfortable and spacious, the service is good, ample parking space (free of charge), a good breakfast, and an in-house Italian restaurant of a very high standard.

Negative: The internet is slow and unstable; I have been on my hotspot for 6 days to send and receive my emails. This needs to improve

Positive: The location was in a beautiful peaceful wooded area and perfect for my trips out to all things WW2 Market Garden. A very good bus service just outside the hotel with buses running every 15 minutes to Arnhem. I loved the swimming pool & spa and also the use of the cycle hire at the hotel. My room was spacious and very clean and it was also nice to have a number of British tv channels to choose from. And I must mention all the staff members who were always happy and helpful. I would definitely stay again if I return back to this area.10/10

Negative: Has corporate functions that take up all parking spots and if you don't book the resteraunt early there is no food options except walk into main centre or umber eats was suggested. You would think some sort of light bar meal may be available
