Summary: A quiet place with lots of charme. Very friendly prople. Hotels require a bit of urgent msintenance, carpet in particular. In conclusion a nice stay in comfortable room.

Summary: It's a very old building and it was renovated for electricity. Only 2 electrical outlets, and one wouldn't hold the plug. The internet never worked. The doors and built-in cabinets needed painted. No blackout drapes and, in the summer in Alaska, you really need them. It doesn't get dark until 11pm and gets light at 3am. It has a radiator heater, which took a long time to heat and it was hard to regulate. The pictures posted did not depict how it really looked. The bed was okay. The staff was friendly.

Summary: Rooms was clean and spacious with view of the bay. No restaurant or bar as advertised. Asked for maid service and the bed was made but no fresh towels or supplies provided (2-night stay).

Summary: This is an older building that maintains it's character. It might have a few dings and chips but it is a lovely piece of history. We had a wonderful stay. The rooms were comfortable and quiet. The bathroom, while small, had a really nice warm shower. We had a beautiful view of the harbor. There is no food on site but downtown is within walking distance with a few restaurants and grocery store. Jeff ( the owner) was wonderful and full of good information. I would highly recommend a stay here.

Summary: A great place to stay! The hotel combined two of the officer's quarters from Fort Seward to make a beautiful building. While the building is from the early 1900s, it is beautifully maintained. The owner is very helpful - he went so far as to dig out a socket wrench to help me with an errant piece of photo equipment. Would definitely stay here again.
