Summary: PRO: - The hotel itself is nice, coole Design - comfortable beds - The pool is nice (though nothing super special. The photos in the website do a good job selling it) - reception staff is friendly CON: - the layout of the room is bad. The big window is at the bathroom. You basically can never look outside or you are constantly busy opening and closing the curtains for privacy. It's not very functional. - the rooms are terrible to work from. There is absolutely no desk or anything in a proper height to put a laptop on. You basically have to work from a sofa with coffee table. - The rooms are dark. Really dark. Even with lights on you feel like it's sunset - Internet speed is so so - the walls are paper thin. You can literally listen to whole conversations in the neighbouring room. You can seriously here the light switches clicking in the rooms next to you. - they whole hotel is running in two elevators. You have to wait and wait and wait. Once you are lucky and an elevator arrives you will have a hundred stops - the business center is just not functional. It looks nice. But the tables are super low, the chairs really not designed for working several hours from them. Especially when it comes to a business center the functionality should be top priority. - the price is just way too high. No idea what's happening in Singapore right now but 600SGD for one night for this hotel is simply insane.

Summary: Excellent location. We didn’t get the hotel breakfast as we were told by our friends there are amazing cafes who open early enough for our kind of trip. Fab brunch places, interesting boutiques for souvenirs, lots of Peranakan flavours around. The newly opened Thomson East Coast MRT line nearby brought this location to a whole new level. Will definitely go back. :)
