Positive: The best thing about the place is its location - right at the lake, with beautiful views.
Negative: Staff is unprofessional - very young people, not even trained to say good morning (as if this was something unusual); we had an issue with the room we were offered - it smelled terribly (wet dog or wet cloth type of smell), looked like a dungeon, dark and gloomy - the boy who checked us in said he doesn't smell it and besides, all rooms smell the same. After intervention, he agreed with the manager on the phone to change our room. The new room smelled ok, was fairly clean (you can tell noone bothers to remove dead spiders on the walls - spiders are normal at the lakes so we didn't care much). We were given only one towel and had to ask for another one. The dinner at the restaurant was a disappointing experience - the reviews we read before - about unprofessional waitresses and disappointing food turned out to be true. The schnitzel we ordered was tasteless. Expensive and much worse than the ones you can get in a milk bar, the salad was tasteless too. The bartender (or a masseuse?) behind the bar was busy massaging the waitress's neck for a good while - with guests inside the restaurant! The waitress didn't bother to ask if the meal was ok while we were eating. She did offer us a discount when we were paying the bill, at least... The breakfast: you need to ask for scrambled eggs, which is ok but not obvious once you enter. On the first day the deli meat plate had only bacon, and we had to ask the waitress to refill the plate. The deli meat, three days in a row had a smeel and sticky texture - obviously not fresh. Same for the cottage cheese - not fresh. Bread and cake - tasteless. Coffee - ok. Everything on top of the accommodation is extra paid.
Summary: Nice location and views. Terrible restaurant experience, unprofessional staff.

Positive: It's our second time in Hotel Joseph Conrad. We loved it a lot on our first time. the location, the food, breakfast and dinner, the hospitality. Then, 6 years ago, we stayed in the main building. Now we came again, a couple and our 21 years old daughter, and stayed in a beautiful new spacious house right on the water, which had a second bedroom in a gallery facing the water. The house was actually moving as being on a boat. Something you have to get used to. but to see the sunset and the sun rising from these edge of the lake was quite an experience. The breakfast was really great
Negative: Reception weren't very welcoming. It seemed they were occupied by something else not really trying to greet us in a warm welcome. it was a bit weird. Dinner which we remembered as a very good one, was quite disappointing. The food could be better (used to be much much better), also the service was very slow and unattentive as the waitress failed to bring what was ordered.
Summary: A Mazurian Gem that has some issues to attend to, on the way to perfection.
