Positive: The hotel is very clean and well-maintained, the staff are friendly and professional. The owner is a charming and caring man. Beautiful hotel with a panoramic terrace and a mouthwatering menu.

Negative: Breakfast was good, but you have to come before the peak time, otherwise there's nothing left to eat.

Summary: A great stopover near Gstaad & Saanen, close to superb mountain walks and a delicious restaurant.

Negative: We did not see any vegetables for breakfast. At least some cucumbers and tomatoes would have been nice.

Negative: There was some irritating noise coming from below my room until about 11:30 pm . Not sure what was below me. I was on the first floor.

Positive: Room is very clean, bathroom is comfortable. Amazing little pillows, overall, bedding is great. Great restaurant. Located near train station.

Negative: No kettle or mini fridge in the room. Rooms overlooking street may be too loud in the morning, if you are light sleeper.

Positive: Breakfast was continental but extensive and really good quality. Situated high in the mountains just north of Gstaad it’s a perfect location for hiking and the signage in Switzerland is excellent. Also the Schonried ‘Golden Pass’ railway station is just a couple of minutes away from the hotels front door. Staff are extremely knowledgeable and pleasant.

Negative: No dislikes

Summary: For a 3 star hotel in late spring Hotel Kernen didn’t disappoint.
