Positive: As close to perfection as I have ever found. Small, family run hotel with a good restaurant (not just a hotel type place- somewhere locals come to). The most beautiful, tranquil pool and grounds. Gorgeous breakfast.
Negative: Nothing really. Fyi only- Saint Paul de Vence itself is utterly beautiful but mostly full of galleries and high-end restaurants. You need to go slightly further for bakery, supermarket etc.

Positive: Very enthusiastic and friendly greeting on arrival - all staff were helpful. Given the 'over-tourism' of nearby St Paul de Vence, the hotel Messugues is a perfect oasis of calm and informality. Good size room with view over an olive grove. Breakfast was excellent. For art-lovers this is a great location to access the nearby Fondation Maeght and Fondation CAB as well as the galleries of St Paul de Vence, and the Matisse Chapel Rosaire in Vence.
Negative: The hotel's own restaurant closes at the end of September, so we were obliged to travel out to find lunch and/ or dinner.
