Positive: The hotel is in front of the station, and given the great value for money, I think it's worth considering to commute from this hotel to Amsterdam. (Haarlem is also an attractive town to visit though!) The room is large and nicely furnished, far better than comparable hotels in Amsterdam or Leiden. Their breakfast was great with a wide choice of salad, ham/salmon, cheese, fruit, and pastries. Shower and wifi worked ptryyy well. The bed was comfortable. The checkout time at 12:00 was generous as well. The staff greet you with a smile, and were always friendly. I was very comfortable and happy throughout my stay.
Negative: Minor issues. From 9AM some cleaning people knocked on my door a couple of times for cleaning. I slept for a long time so it was a little awkward. It’s an old building so there are many stairs within one floor. The room was large but layout-wise I didnt have much space to open my large suitcase. They didnt bother me a lot though, and I was satisfied overall.
Summary: Amazing location and value for money. Worth commuting to Amsterdam/Leiden from this hotel.

Positive: This boutique hotel, currently (May, 2026) undergoing a major exterior historic renovation, is a delightful find in an excellent location in Haarlem. It is just across the street from the train and bus stations, and only minutes from downtown. The best public laundromat in Haarlem is only a block away. Despite the excellent location, the hotel is quiet, even on holidays. The staff are amazing, the lounge/bar area modern, clean, and fun, and the rooms perfect. Excellent amenities include coffee & tea in the room, coffee maker & electric kettle, refrigerator and safe. Very cool bathroom with amazing walk-in shower that easily accommodates two; great towels!
Negative: If we were nitpicking, it would be only that the bar serves wine & beer and some basic alcohol, but does not make cocktails. There are tons of nearby bars to meet your needs.
Summary: Outstanding hotel experience for less money than many other local options
