Positive: Very upscale feel. The room was very large, and well designed (lots of storage and surface areas). Big windows, lots of light during the day, with heavy curtains making the room very dark for sleeping. Well stocked mini bar was also a plus. In terms of facilities dining on the terrace was a highlight (the food, service, and the atmosphere were excellent). The menu was exactly what you would hope for in the summer, lots of fish and seafood, and the service staff was prompt and attentive. We also enjoyed the very well equipped gym with an excellent view of the beach. The pool area also seemed very nice and gave the entire property a very resort feel (though we only used the private beach). The beach and sea itself was quiet, clean, and scenic (once you got out there), and the attendant was super friendly and laid back.
Negative: In terms of the room, my only discomfort was I found their pillows on the thin side (an extra pillow barely helped). The view on the south side of the hotel was also a bit blighted (gas station, trash, empty lots) but I don’t blame the hotel for this, just a consideration for booking (the North side faces the very nice terrace and pool). In terms of facilities, however, I must say where the upscale aspect of the hotel falls off a bit was the private beach. For one, the beach was a bit far to not have any kind of bar service (we had to pack our own drinks, water, and fruit). The hotel also has a policy of no personal towels at the beach (which is fine), however the towels they provided for a fee were pool towels (microfiber would be preferred for hygiene reasons). Finally the chairs at the beach were not great (I watched as myself and several others fell backwards on the chairs, a dozen times over 3 days). Some of them were also in disrepair, sunken in the middle. A bit of investment to improve the beach area would go a long way, as I’m sure a lot of summer guests expect to spend a great deal of time visiting Gizzeria Lido, by the sea…

Positive: Beautiful location, delicious dinner on pleasant terrace and huge swimming pools. A gracious, spacious hotel with large open areas and polished wooden floors. Lovely.
Negative: Take your own tissues and face washers ... but not really an issue.

Positive: The staff at the front desk were friendly and accomodating despite the fact that there was a health conference setting up at the same time we were checking in. They made it easy for us to check in and get to our room upong arrival. The staff at the breakfast bar were also wonderful as they greeted us warmly both mornings and took the time to interact with our children which made the experience even more memorable. My daughter was excited to be learning the local Italian phrases. The other part we liked about this hotel was proximity to a Conad for any food or beverage needs that arose during our stay and restaurants were just a short drive (or longer walk) away. The beach access was another great feature, even in the spring when it's still cooler outside. The walk to the water was over sand and rocks so pack light if heading down on your own. Overall we had a great time at the hotel and would recommend to anyone else looking to stay in a more updated and modern hotel with staff that takes great care in ensuring all is well.
Negative: If we are able to stay here again in the future, we'll time it so that the pool is open and the kids can enjoy. Late-March is still not warm enough to open pools in some areas and we understand that.

Positive: The view of the promenade by the sea and the wonderful sight of the ocean are excellent. The breakfast, served individually, is outstanding. The lounge situation is pleasant, and the friendly reception after midnight was a nice touch. Highly recommended !
