Positive: Fabulous views to the mountains just across from the train station staff at the Matterhorn inn were lovely

Negative: The lock inside the bedroom door locks you out if you turn it the wrong way because it was shoulder season help was at the other hotel and took a while to come The man from the reception at the partnering hotel was very abupt and a little rude

Positive: Well, it is difficult to to give a review on the Matterhorn, as they changed my booking to another hotel 150 metres away just a day before I arrived! That said, the Porta Cervino, was wonderful. All of the ratings I gave, pertain to the Porta Cervino. Welcoming staff, good and regular room service etc. New hotel, room was excellent.

Negative: Only one thing. The Spa that was available at my original booking at the Matterhorn, although still available for use, was now 150 metres away. With the temperature at sub zero, not really an option.

Summary: Porta Cervino not Matterhorn !

Positive: It is just one stop from Zermatt, peaceful village. In the price was access to hotel saunas - that was very nice! Also they gave as coupon for free drink in their restaurant if we order the meal. The breakfast also was very nice. So we spent wonderful time!

Positive: We were upgraded to stay in a newer hotel, Porta Cervino. I was really great, and I liked the room so much. The bed was perfect and the staff was also great.

Negative: At 7.30 am the road reconstruction started. I think that it was not the problem of the hotel but it was annoying.
