Originally a wealthy sea captain’s mansion built in 1810, the Hotel Miranda is a fine example of characteristic local architecture. It is located 820 feet from the port and 1640 feet from Ydra’s main beach. Hotel Miranda features uniquely styled rooms, some with old hand-painted ceilings made by Venetian artists. They are all air conditioned and offer garden or sea views. A homemade breakfast with fresh local products is served at the hotel's garden, full of flowers and lemon trees. Declared a National Heritage monument by the Ministry of Culture, the Hotel Miranda has a fine collection of 18th and 19th century furniture, prints and paintings. Several art exhibitions of a high standard take place annually in the Hotel Miranda Art Gallery. Positive: Hotel Miranda is a lovely hotel, run by very lovely staff. It feels home. The room, the garden are spectacular. The bathroom would need a little renovation, that would make everything beyond perfect. In any case it’s a hotel I very much recommend.

Positive: Very warm welcome from lovely Marianna and her lovely uncle. The rooms all seem to have lovely views and ours had a front door onto a path. Breakfast was great with an exceptional sea view and the location is marvellous 🤩

Positive: Fabulous hotel with lots of charm and history. The staff were very friendly and breakfast was great - made to order. This was my favourite hotel on our trip!

Positive: The friendly staff. The beautiful surroundings of the mansion and garden.
Negative: Unfortunately, the shower facilities leave a lot to be desired. Water all over the bathroom floor. I suppose when renovating the mansion, bathrooms had to be built wherever possible.
