Summary: The room was beautiful and the staff could not have been nicer. It is a quiet little town with easy access to the path to Burg Eltz, but I would stay here again even if not hiking to the castle. Highly recommended.

Summary: Great place to stay when visiting Burg Eltz! Easy convenient (and free) parking. Only issue that guests should be aware of is that it is cash only and the nearest ATM is 5 km away in the next town. Even so, the proprietor is willing to drive you there (it's not very easy to find).

Summary: Great location. This area is absolutely gorgeous. The owners were extremely nice. They have a small parking lot where you can park your car for free if you have rented a car. We were able to do day trips to Trier, Cochem, Cologne, St. Goar to Bacarach. Cochem and Cologne are very busy with lots of people. It was nice to come back to Hotel Moselkern where it was very low key, not inundated with people. The hotel is located right on the river, it's very beautiful. The hotel serves dinner and offers a buffet in the morning.

Summary: Location is great for hiking to Burg Eltz. Also nice bike trails and Mosel river access. The town is very, very small. No bank machines, no grocery store, only a couple of restaurants, and few places accept credit or debit cards so bring cash! Still a nice place to stay.
