Travel Purpose: leisure

Positive: A great location for Aveiro, right near the quaint shopping and restaurant area and near the canals. On a quiet street with little traffic. Breakfast was decent and the breakfast room was a nice place to sit and write in the morning. TV worked well, shower had good pressure and temperature. Lack of a lift gave us an opportunity to work out carrying our bags upstairs.

Negative: The room was really, really small, even by European standards. The bed was jammed right up against the sliding bathroom door, which made for zero bathroom privacy. The hotel had obviously just done some plumbing work, because the first time we turned on the bathroom taps, the water ran thick and brown for a few minutes. Same thing the first few times we flushed the toilet. So we didn't trust the water for drinking, though it might have been fine. While it sounds like we had some complaints, the room was fine for the two nights we stayed. We're not Rockefellers, after all and the location overcomes a lot of objections.

Summary: Great location for a night or two in Aveiro -- but maybe not for a longer stay
