Positive: Been coming here for many years. It's functional clean and modern and we do like Portman
Negative: I would recommend this hotel, its not as good as it used to be, the staff are not as good as they were , the breakfast is not what it was. I am not saying the staff are bad or breakfast is awful just not what it was in 2017 when we first visited

Positive: I'm not sure what i expected from a two star hotel but the reviews convinced me to give it a go. Staff were very welcoming. The bed was very comfortable and there was an excellent choice of food on the menu. The solarium on the roof was very relaxing with a bar available. Dinner could be served there by staff while you enjoy the views of the countryside
Negative: For the money the hotel was very good value. A couple of minor issues occurred. The lift broke down on two occasions which was difficult as I was using crutches at the time. Also there was a distinct 'drains' odour in the bathroom which is not uncommon in parts of Spain and the canary isles.

Positive: This is a nice modern clean hotel at a very good price point. The room is large with an absolutely huge bed , very comfy with nice smooth bed covers. Good air con. The absolute star of the show is the roof terrace! Wow! Absolutely stunning panoramic views with glass wraparound balconies. Special mention also for the croissants at breakfast - these are obviously hand baked huge and chewy - i had 3 they were so nice!
Negative: Nothing really. It was all good!

Positive: The location is very special, in a little old mining town. The hotel is simple, but beautifully situated with great views in the front and the back from the roof terrace. The owner and every single member of the staff are very friendly and helpful. When you ever are in the neightbourhood of Cartagena and you need a hotel to stay, go here. The hotel itself, the staff and the surroundings will not disappoint you.

Negative: No tea or coffee available before 8am - should have either in room or a good machine somewhere. Front entrance is VERY hot in summer, it badly needs a shade awning
