Positive: Nice older hotel. Rooms spacious enough.
Negative: Literally appears to be staffed by college kids who know little about service industry (or what they are doing). The most troubling is that there is a homeless encampment right outside the hotel because church across the street that appears to have soup kitchen and overnight stays. Can be crowds of down & out folks, druggies, and rabble rousers just outside the hotel. Did not have an incident, but had concerns. Had to use the valet service to park car and at $45 a night in smaller city like Providence, it was steep but necessary for vehicle safety.

Positive: The hotel maintains the elegance of its historic roots with all the expected modern amenities. The friendly staff sets a welcoming casual atmosphere. The soaring ceilings provide a sense of space in the well appointed rooms. Conveniently located in the city's center, one can walk to great restaurants and the river. All this plus breakfast was included! We loved our stay and will return.
