Positive: The room was so spacious that there was even an armchair that didn't take up any needed space. The in-house restaurant on the other side of reception was very practical. The breakfast there the next morning was good for Spanish standards although not extraordinary. And they offer a tasty and reasonable priced midday menu. The location of the hotel is relatively central. The reception staff was humorous and very kind.

Negative: The lighting in the room was sufficient but a little bit limited, without a ceiling lamp. The moderate soundproofing towards the corridor and other rooms would be a potential minus point, but it was quiet at night. The same applies to the window side facing the street, Calle del Tinte. It had more through traffic during the day than anticipated, but was really quiet at night. A lot has been written in the comments about the ageing bathrooms. I could resist the temptation to buy the hotel a new shower hose. Sure, the bathroom wasn't top-notch, but it was clean and well maintained, apart from the shower hose. But if you want everything to be perfect, you end up with prices in the mid three-digit euro range for an overnight stay. I much prefer this hotel.

So I had a slightly late lunch there, and breakfast there the next morning was also fine. The location of the hotel was relatively central.

Negative: The lighting in the room was limited, I can't remember a ceiling lamp. However, I was a guest at the end of June, when there is plenty of sun and light in Ciudad Real.
