Summary: The room was clean with air conditioning. It is close to the beach and the hotel has designated chairs on the beach. Also there is a pool/patio area with a view of the beach. Easy access to excellent restaurants including the Scappata restaurant downstairs. Delicious food and excellent service. If you like being close to the action and beach, stay here. If you want no noise and no people around, maybe it is not for you. We enjoyed the Malecon and excitement of the area with strolls at night. Perfect location.

Summary: On my first day staying at the Hotel Scapata, not only did they kindly store my bag for hours before check-in, but they went above and beyond to help me. I had ditched my bag with them to go check out El Corchito, a local eco-reserve, and upon my return had left my phone in the cab. The hotel manager took me in his personal vehicle around town to the taxi station and supported me in finding the right driver. Mind you, this was all before I'd even checked in! I was immensely grateful and he was incredibly gracious. Perfect person to work in hospitality. Everything else about the hotel was great, but his generosity is what will stay with me!
