Positive: The place was clean and looked exactly like in the photos. There’s a shared bathroom and kitchen, and even some snacks were prepared for us, which was a sweet touch. The host was very kind, responsive, and helpful – always replied quickly, so everything went smoothly on that side. It’s about a 25-minute walk from Journal Square, where you can catch the PATH train to New York in around 20–30 minutes. So getting into the city is actually very easy and convenient.
Negative: At first, we were a bit scared because the windows don’t lock, but in the end everything turned out fine. The only downside for us was the neighborhood – as two girls walking around we didn’t feel safe at all. Walking was honestly unpleasant, but luckily, there’s the option to take an Uber to Journal Square for about $10, which we ended up using and it was fine.

Positive: The apartment is nicely decorated, well designed, and equipped with everything we needed for our stay. The bedroom was comfortable, but there were no shutters, so from around 6-7am the sunlight came in and it was hard to sleep. When we arrived, we had a small issue because the access codes weren’t provided right away, and we couldn’t reach the management company at first. Luckily, it was resolved quickly.
Negative: Since the apartment is shared between several rooms, there is only one bathroom, which sometimes gets occupied for a long time and makes the stay less convenient. The bathroom was also not cleaned daily, so after three days it wasn’t in great condition anymore. The neighborhood is not the quietest: sometimes people gather right in front of the building to have barbecues, play loud music, and smoke.
Summary: Good price and accommodation, not best location
