Positive: One of the best hotels we have been to as a family. It had all the facilities, perfect for families with young children. The view of our room was simply breathtaking. Breakfast was amazing, staff were all nice and pleasant. I would highly recommend this place. The area, Grossarl, was also very beautiful.

Positive: Staff was very helpful and welcoming. Great facilities for kids, the pools, outside and inside play areas were superb! Breakfast was good, we didn’t go for the half board and preferred to change locations for dinner each evening. Over all we really enjoyed our stay.

Negative: When we arrived we were given room 123 with terrace, however they have some building work ongoing and the terrace view was obscured by scaffolding, and was dusty and dirty. We were woken by workers before 7am, banging and running down and up having a clear view to our room. In my opinion this room should not be given to guests. We asked reception and they did change our room, however, would be better to not to have this experience from the start. Also, it was extremely hot at night, we did ask for a fan as I read in older reviews they provided them but was told that they didn’t have any. As for breakfast, the buffet was great if you came super early but unfortunately it was not refilled though the morning, you had to find staff and ask them specifically for what was missing and wait. They didn’t do it automatically what in other hotels is a standard. It should not be the case that if you come later that you have half empty plates. But as mentioned, staff was helpful so they tried to help with everything we asked.

Positive: Wonderful facilities, particularly the swimming pools and sauna area, separate adults-only sauna area. Delicious and extensive breakfast buffet, high quality 4-course evening meal for only €20 extra, fantastic value, particularly the gala dinner. Location very close to lifts and ski shops - we used the ski depot at the lift station which was very conveniently located (next to the excellent Rambazambar) Friendly and efficient staff in restaurant and at reception, immaculately clean rooms and public areas. Non-skiers in the group enjoyed the daily (free) activities, including yoga and hikes. Skiers enjoyed the local Grossarl-Dorfgastein ski area, and easy 15 minute bus links to Alpendorf and Bad Hofgastein
