Positive: Public area and deck outside were nice. A la cart menu for dinner was good.
Negative: The room was extremely basic, very outdated, and bordering on neglected in appearance. The bathroom looked as though it had not been renovated since the 1970s. There was not even a bottle of water in the room, let alone a coffee machine. It was a real disappointment, which is unfortunate because the location on the fjord is beautiful and the public areas are quite pleasant. Overall, it was a disappointment and a missed opportunity. The hotel is situated in a beautiful location, but it is in serious need of renovation and modernization.

Negative: - most spa facilities closed I reached out to the hotel a week before our stay if the renovation period (hotel was closed until beginning of March) would affect our stay in any way, asking specifically if the spa area would be open. We got the confirmation that everything would be open and running as usual. So we decided to take the 5 h trip up to Ullensvang Hotel. Upon arrival we were told that only the kids pool and the sauna were functional. The pool outside (swimming canal) was open but had a current temperature of 10 degrees while they were trying to warm it up, according to the staff. This was a huge disappointment since we had planned this as a spa weekend and would have chosen a different weekend or a different hotel if we would have known the circumstances. By reaching out beforehand we tried to avoid this situation.

Positive: Amazing view, friendly staff. Big and very clean room. And as a bonus there is a heated outdoor pool which provides a fantastic feeling after the sunset.

Positive: Really liked our stay here, some may say it s dated but it was very taken care of and clean and we loved it. Great spa and pool facilities, great restaurant and staff. We really loved the room and the view. Definitely a great place.
Negative: Beyond me how can a local cider made across the street is the same huge price as an Italian wine, we went for the wine in the end.
Summary: Great stay, superb hotel.

Positive: The hotel is a bit outdated but has lots of character and is well-maintained. The rooms were a nice size, beds and bedding very comfortable, and rooms were cleaned daily. Breakfast was excellent. The best part for me was the heated pools and the jacuzzi, a great place to relax at the end of a long hiking day.
