Positive: The style of the hotel has become quite retro, but the quality of the original facilities means that this is retro with charm and comfort, even if somewhat faded. The working fireplaces in several locations of the hotel, including the bar and the breakfast room, added a lot to the pleasant atmosphere. The building has a history and historic connections, it was very interesting to read about these on site. At our departure, the clouds had lifted and the view of the snow-covered Serra da Estrela was the cherry on the cake.

Summary: A charming oldy-worldy place with history. Not for those looking for bling bling or modern design.

Positive: the view is amazing quite for relaxing the staff is excellent

Negative: Breakfast food not enough selection for the 4 star hotel and also menu for lunch and dinner and the bed is small for a couple and bed is noisy

Positive: Good breakfast and meals; the surrondings are very nice; Quiet and nice to rest some days.

Negative: Pool could have better safety features special considering the use of children. The hotel looks to keep its traditional fashioned style but still needs to upgrade on some facilities like rooms toilet
