Negative: The room is small and dark if you don’t open the curtain and the price is expensive. Open basin makes the floor get wet easily. The door of the shower room is see through

Negative: This is a typical example of the cold/businesslike hotel business of the future, where everything is unpersonal and everything has to be or can be bought from a vending machine even a wift of parfum not the bottle, just one puff. Not my cup of tea as I travel a lot and you want to interact with the one commodity that makes a hotel lively, its personnel

Positive: The location is fantastic. Just walk out of Leiden Central Station, look to your left, and there it is. Literally a two minute walk. Also a very short walk to all the attractions of the beautiful city of Leiden as well as supermarkets, bars and restaurants. This hotel is a one without a permanent staff presence in reception. If you arrive at a time when there is no one on duty, there is an automated Check In/Check Out facility. There are options to buy all sorts of food and drink and places to consume them off the reception area. Full buffet breakfast is available at the sister hotel next door via a short corridor off reception Reception staff, when they were available, were all very friendly and helpful. The bedroom was clean, warm and comfortable, with a somewhat unusual en-suite arrangement. The toilet is in a separate room, but the wash-hand basin and shower are effectively part of the bedroom. I would describe the hotel as somewhat 'funky', though we rhoroughy enjoyed our four-night stay there.

Negative: There was very little we didn't like about Hotel Vic with only minor negatives. The lighting was somewhat understated in the bedroom, and we had no soap in the soap container in our shower cubicle. We did manage to obtain a new bottle of soap, but for some reason, this was removed when the room was being cleaned.

Positive: Bed was comfortable, room was clean

Negative: The evening staff were VERY rude. They did not tell us we need the card to open the door at night (outside) and had very bad attitude. They also woke us up at 9:00 for cleaning service which I found strange.
