Positive: The house is as beautiful as in the pictures. I loved the big, nicely decorated living room. The 2 rooms upstairs are smaller compared to the one downstairs, but can all comfortably accommodate 2 people. Communication was easy, the host offered us the use of a garage for 10€ per night. The city center can be reached with a very pretty 15 minutes walk along the river.
Negative: The property only has one toilet downstairs and one shower upstairs, so everyone has to walk up and down the stairs, which are quite slippery. Cleaning could be improved.

Positive: The property, on first sight, was a little non-descript, in a side street of Gent. We had to contact the owners for the key box code, and they sent it complete with photo's for the underground parking opposite (EU 10 per day.). However, on entering the property, we found a very high, very clean finish. The standard of accommodation was excellent, double bedrooms (1 down, 2 up.) comfortable, and all manner of kitchen equipment, including washing machine, should it be required. The shower was of a proper dimension, and HOT! (Perfect for me.) Separate toilet, downstairs. HUGE opening French doors at the back of the house, with access to a small courtyard area, with seating. Comfortable large sofas in the lounge. Bar on the corner, 20 metres away, brewery, with shop, next-door-but-one. (What's not to like?) Close to the town centre, 15 mins walk, which has a busy night-life this time of year. Artisan market about 200 metres away, which is perfect for breakfast goods and coffee.
Negative: Car park was a tad tight, both going in and coming out, if you have a large car. The bar on the corner does live music, most nights, which went on until 11-ish, which could possibly be an annoyance to some people. (Heavy bass coming through!) Shops for essentials are few and far between, though.
Summary: We would readily recommend this property. Good (Even though remote.) hosts were very helpful.

Positive: Very nice accommodation, walking distance from 15 minutes to the city of Ghent. Two smaller bedrooms up stairs, one big bedroom down stairs. Good kitchen and living room. Small cafe on the corner of the street.
Negative: There was only one toilet in the apartment and one bathroom upstairs. No big problem but something to be aware of with six persons. There aren't much restaurants in the neighborhood.
