Summary: We stayed here from Dec 17- Jan 7. The location is great, very quiet and safe. Gated, with attendant 24 hours. The unit has a comfortable queen bed, in the "living room" that has an accordion door to separate it from the couch, dining room and kitchen, and a double bed in the bedroom. The kitchen is very small, there wasn't a lot of cutlery, but enough for 2. There is 2 tv's but we didn't find any English channels. There is enough of everything in the unit, just not as much as you would have at home, like no toaster. The internet wasn't working for a day, but I believe that was an oversight on the host's part, the hot water wasn't turned on when we got there, so the night watchman came and helped us get that on. The pool is a nice area, but it is not heated, so we only dipped our toes in it. With ALL concerns Juan Jose communicated with us almost immediately and fixed what was needed. Walmart is a 5 min drive away, you could probably walk there, but it gets pretty warm early in the day. On Hidalgo Street, there is a wonderful bike/pedestrian path that goes for miles, which is only a block or so away. I recommend renting a car, we rented through Easy and Affordable Car Rentals Ajijic, which was fantastic. I recommend going to Tequila (a beautiful town about 2 hours away).

Summary: Hamacas is a friendly and well kept complex. It's not too large, not too small - just right. The Casa I rented (1 bedroom) had everything I would need and was very comfortable. Good WiFi and a nice clubhouse and pool area to mingle with the other residents. The property manager, Juan, was promptly available whenever I needed him. All in all, highly recommended - I'd stay here again! Very sad that I had to cut my stay short because of the COVID-19 pandemic. Note however, thet an excellent recently built hospital is a few minutes walk from the gate!

Summary: We had a wonderful stay in Ajijic, Mexico. Juan was waiting for us on our arrival and was very helpful and answered all our questions. The unit is very nice and located in a small, gated, newer community. It was perfect for two people and is clean, well-furnished, and quiet. A plus is the shaded, secluded patio on the rear of the house to relax on after spending a day shopping or sightseeing. Within walking distance are lots of small stores and shops, several good restaurants, and a Walmart about six blocks away. The physical location is perfect and on the East side of Ajijic, just off the main street (Hidalgo). A very interesting area and neighborhood! If you are looking for a good base in a secure area where you can experience the Lake Chapala area, this is the place. I would certainly stay here again!
