Summary: "I visited with my wife and two children aged 3 and 5 and we enjoyed our stay immensely. A large part of this was due to the helpfulness of our host Carlo who showed us around the town and beach and was happy to answer all our questions. Despite Carlo listing his languages as Italian only, his English is perfectly adequate and certainly far better than our Italian. The house was immaculately clean and tidy when we arrived with plenty of cooking equipment and Carlo and his wife left us some very useful supplies (including a bottle of the local wine) in the fridge and store cupboards, so that we did not have to go shopping on our first day. The furnishing was better than looked in the photos. From the garden there is a view to Etna in the distance. The small pool was just the right size for our children, just shallow enough for our three-year-old to be in her depth. 10 minutes up the road from the house is the entrance to Cava Grande di Casibile, the local grand canyon. A car is pretty much essential, and since the property is up a very twisty and quite steep road from Avola, I would recommend getting a car with a reasonably powerful engine. Avola itself is well worth visiting with the feel of a real town rather than a tourist trap. We would definitely recommend this house to anyone wanting to stay in this area and hope to come back some day ourselves. "
