Your own island! Yes, this unique three bedroom property 'Hungry Mother Island' offers the chance to stay surrounded by a babbling creek on your own little isle of mountain paradise. Located on Hungry Mother Creek at Hungry Mother State Park. It’s just off the Back of the Dragon Trail & bordered by Hungry Mother State Park along with George Washington & Jefferson National Forest. Nearby multiple wilderness areas, superb mountain stream fishing, small lake fishing, swimming area & beach, wildlife management areas & miles of trails offer tons of natural amenities and outdoor opportunities. This newly remodeled cabin offers three bedrooms and two bathrooms with a jacuzzi tub in the downstairs bath. Eat in kitchen with stainless appliances, wood slab bar top and butcher block counter tops. Or use interesting dining room table for the whole family to sit down for dinner, all while seeing the creek flow by out of every window. Unwind on the sectional sofa in front of the stone fireplace while streaming your favorite show on the 60" TV. Relax on the rooftop patio or entertain under the lights on the stone patio while grilling out on the large stone fire/charcoal grill. The whole place is yours other than a couple of closet spaces and small areas we use for storage.

Summary: This lovely, well appointed cabin retreat is surrounded by a babbling creek on all sides, giving us our our island oasis. We thoroughly enjoyed the privacy and the fire pit outside. This cabin had everything we needed and more, far exceeding our expectations. We enjoyed preparing meals in the well appointed kitchen and gathering around the picnic table outdoors fireside. The owners of this VRBO were very responsive and answered all of our questions before arrival. I will definitely make plans to return and enjoy all of the surrounding activities!

Summary: This was perfect for two couples. We were close enough to the park to hike and far enough away to have a quiet secluded spot to hang out. We especially liked the fire pit area with the outdoor lights and the deer jumping over the water as our entertainment.

Summary: This cabin was perfect for our weekend stay to ride the Virginia Creeper trail. Although the Creeper trail was about 45 minutes away, we enjoyed this location so much. It was right outside of Hungry Mother State Park, which we had not visited before. It is absolutely beautiful, and we enjoyed exploring the park a little bit on Sunday. The cabin itself had such a peaceful, serene setting with the creek wrapping around it on every side. We really enjoyed the outdoor space, particularly the fire pit. The cabin was clean and had everything that we needed for our stay. Would highly recommend Hungry Mother Island!
