Travel Purpose: leisure
Positive: Amazing location! Totally away from crowds, but close to outdoor activities, beach, Atlantic Road. Good breakfast. We took advantage of the fixed price menu both nights we were there. Anything else would have been inconvenient and this was a true Norwegian gourmet dinner. The best dinners we had in Norway. View is spectacular. Such a wonderful respite from crowds in Bergen and Geiranger. The room was small, but comfortable. Liked having the coffee maker. Very upbeat, friendly and helpful staff. The menu's for evening were available in the morning. I'm allergic to shrimp and they made a split pea soup for me as a substitute for that course that was delicious!
Negative: Like every place we stayed in Norway, we missed having luggage racks -- seems minor, but so important if you don't unpack. My only complaint.
Summary: Met all of my fantasies of experiencing a stay in "the real" Norway.

Negative: We had no kettle in the room to make a cup of tea but when asked for one, it was supplied.
Summary: Relaxing and rewarding end to a holiday

Positive: Location by the sea was gorgeous. You can walk across rocks until you just face an eternal sunset. The bungalows were very comfortable.
Negative: We did not have dinner there because it was very expensive, but there was a supermarket close by and we had a great picnic in the bungalow.
Summary: Gorgeous location. Charming little cabins.

Positive: The in-house restaurant did us a 4 course vegetarian dinner because we donโ€™t eat seafood! And it was delicious! The location of the hotel is wonderful! Beautiful views.
Negative: The windows probably could do with some better sound proofing. The seagulls are very loud and seem to carry on through the night in the summer!
Summary: Really nice little hotel by the sea !

Positive: Loved the cabins - clean, comfortable, spacious, green roof. Sauna on site. Loved walking on the rocks next to the ocean. Great dinner. Friendly, helpful staff.
Negative: A minor point that breakfast was a bit limited but this is a small hotel so itโ€™s understandable and expected. Tasted good.
Summary: Wonderful stay, cabins, dinner. Highly recommend.

Positive: Decor, ambiance and overall setting was on par for Classic Norway hotels.
Negative: Booked this at the last minute after staying at two other Classic Norway hotels (Sagafjord in Sรฆbo and Valdall near Trollstigen). This was, unfortunately, our least favorite experience with this hotel chain. While we love the decor and location, this hotel acted as if it didn't want our business. It's rather remote (near the Atlantic Road Scenic Drive). After driving 5 hours, we asked about dining options for dinner. Staff immediately suggested restaurants 30 minutes in either direction of this remote hotel. Their only option was a set multi-course menu for $75 (without drinks). We reluctantly drove 30 miles one way for a sub-par meal. Had we known they weren't interested in serving dinner, we would have eaten something on our way to the hotel instead of adding another hour of drive time just to have dinner in a town we had already driven through to get there. Breakfast was adequate. Seagulls nesting on the roof next to our room kept us awake at 5 a.m. Overall, an underwhelming stay.
Summary: Would not make this a destination - an underwhelming Classic Norway hotel experience
