Positive: The room was great - good quality as usual from an Ibis. The breakfast was superb. Parking was easy - if you don't use the hotel's underground car park there is a huge car park right next to the hotel (and some onstreet parking)

Positive: We stayed at the ibis Troyes Centre Hotel on the first night of our road trip through France, Switzerland, Italy and Monaco. It was a great start to what lay ahead. The room was clean, quiet and spacious enough for a family of three staying for one night. The reception staff were very welcoming and informative. They showed us the best routes to the old town and recommended places to eat that offered discounts for hotel guests. We arrived in a low-suspension car and were worried about using the underground car park, but there was nothing to worry about. There was plenty of space to manoeuvre, and the angle of the ramp did not prevent us from using it. Breakfast was really nice, with a good variety of fresh and cooked food, including some lovely bread and pastries. If you are looking for a hotel within walking distance of the old town, look no further - this is the hotel for you! You can reach the lively evening area in no time, and the town itself is delightful. It has lots of gorgeous little cafes and restaurants, cobbled streets and wonky houses, plus a very atmospheric river running through it with plenty of fountains.
Negative: It was a bit dingy in the room due to the layers of fabric over the window, as well as the window not being opened. I’m aware this is for security reasons, but being able to let in some fresh air always makes a great difference.
Summary: A welcoming, comfortable stay that made the perfect start to our road trip.
