The Idlewood Hive is a private home, situated in a quiet neighborhood, just 6 minutes from downtown Richmond. Enjoy the laid back quiet feel, while being close enough to fully enjoy downtown. Large country decks, 8 foot custom locally made Farm Table, and large kitchen filled with great amenities make it perfect for families, friends, and work retreats. Home sleeps 16 people comfortably.
You and your guests will drive to the rear of the house where you will have private parking. The rear door is keyless entry and Leslie, or our house host Ashley, will provide the code prior to your check in. As you enter into our beautiful newly built home, you walk into the kitchen which is the heart of the home. The house is light filled and brand new. There is a private room with a Queen bed on the main floor with a full bath across the hall. The living room is towards the front of the house with a pull out sofa to accommodate a full bed. The front porch is the perfect spot to take your coffee and the start the morning off right. Heading upstairs there is a private room with a Queen bed and right across is a room with full over full bunk beds that sleeps four total. Heading down the hall there is a shared bathroom for those two rooms. Further down you will enter a huge master bedroom. The master offers two twin over twin bunk beds and 1 twin over full bunk bed. Total this room sleeps is 7 with an en suite bathroom. Don't over look the balcony from this room. The door leads out to a beautiful balcony where you enjoy our luxury seating while viewing the Richmond city sky line.

Summary: We went to Richmond as a meeting to meet all the family. The picture of the house online are brand new and the house has seen a lot of wear and tear. We had to ask for a plumber to come fix a bathroom toilet. We asked about the weather stripping on a door and mold on a shower curtain to be replaced. We got an Amazon package, and I guess the property owner assumed we should do this work. The property owner was responsive.We paid an extra person charge yet we had to wait sometimes hours to get hot water. Hot water would run out.The location is ok, great access to downtown.The front door to the house had a very bad door handle.You should have more than one television in a house, especially when you rent to 10-15 people.I wouldn’t recommend the house with these current issues and I would ask the homeowner to remedy these issues.

Summary: Had everything we needed. One shower was a problem, did not get hot. Main door handle needs work, kept falling off. Multiple birds in the tree in the back covere the vehicles with droppings. Otherwise all good

Summary: This place had everything we needed and was in a great location. The host was incredibly responsive and we’d stay there again for sure! Neighbors were a bit loud at night but nothing a sound machine can’t block out.

Summary: With family from points north, south and west the more than adequate sleeping arrangements made our stay lovely. There is a fully stocked kitchen and laundry. Decor is appealing to most!

Summary: We had 3 generations under one roof for the VCU graduation. This home was close to campus, stores and restaurants. We had other family join us at the house to hang out together. The kitchen was a perfect spot for us all, the 2nd floor porch was great for views of the city. We had a great time staying there while we were in Richmond.

Summary: This was an amazing property and perfect for our trip. We had a group of 10 guys in town for my brother’s bachelor party/golf trip. It was in a great location close to The Fan where we spent most of our time while not on the golf course. Would definitely book again.
