Positive: Very nice family, the daughter speak some English. They arrange taxi from Samarkand or Bukhara. They have lunch and dinner (no need to tell before arrival). Cozy outdoor area, very nice comfortable rooms, beds. It is not cold in the rooms. Also not hot. Great stay

Positive: We had an incredible stay here at Ikhtiyor guest house during our hiking trip in the Nurata mountains. It was honestly one of the best stays we have ever had. The owners and their children were so kind and funny and we played volleyball in the evening. The food at supper and breakfast was homemade and delicious. The room was also extremely clean and thé ensuite bathroom had a great shower. The location is so peaceful in Hayat and there’s a river running by. Much to our surprise, the Nowruz festival was happening in the morning, where our guesthouse hosted a large party with many guests from nearby villages. We were warmly invited to join them with dancing, eating delicious food and celebrating! Thank you so much for everything and I’d hope to be back again. Would 100% recommend!

Positive: I could not recommend this place more!!! This was one of the best experiences of my life. We only stayed two nights, I wish I could have stayed much longer. The family who runs ikhtiyor guest house is so lovely, sweet, kind. They have wonderful children who we spent hours playing volleyball, soccer, cards with, laughing and having so much fun! The parents are so lovely, kind and accommodating. The place itself is beautiful, newly renovated, spacious and very comfortable. The bathroom and shower are fantastic with hot water at all times. The food was delicious. We had breakfast, lunch and dinner with them and it was something different each time - using fresh local produce (milk from the cow, that they had taught me how to milk). The location was about a 3 hr drive for us from Samarkand but so worth it. You are right in the mountains with trails easily accessible from the guest house. The family had a traditional festival on the day we left and welcomed us to stay, dance, eat with the town. I hope one day soon myself and partner are back very soon! FYI - if you are worried about getting there or back; we were too, but it proved to be very easy! We got a yandex go (taxi) from Samarkand (this was also available from Bukhara). And once we arrived Ikhtiyor guesthouse were able to organise a return taxi through the family with a lovely local man (Vali) for a very reasonable price! This removed any stress we had about getting there or returning.

Negative: Nothing, I hope to be back again soon!

Positive: We enjoyed staying here a lot. The place is run by a very friendly family who lives on the same premises. Guests stay in a separate building with five impeccably clean rooms. Dinner can be booked on the spot and comes at an extra cost. There is direct access to a hiking trail along the stream right next to the hostel.

Positive: We absolutely loved this place, it truly made us feel at home from the very first moment! The rooms are brand new, spotless, and beautifully decorated. The family who owns the guesthouse is incredibly kind and goes above and beyond to make your stay perfect. They organized taxis for our arrival and departure, as well as one taxi for a small trip in the mountains, which was a highlight of our stay. The food was absolutely delicious, both for lunch and dinner, some of the best we had during our trip! We especially loved that, on a rainy day, we had the chance to cook manti together with them and spend time playing with the kids, such a warm and authentic experience. This is by far the best place we stayed in during our trip to Uzbekistan. We couldn’t recommend it more!

Positive: Oh my goodness everything. We had the best time all the kids are so lovely and we had such a fun dance party together for like 2 hours of lots of laughing and Gulia the eldest girl is also really good at volleyball and we all loved playing soccer together. Location is stunning, accomodation is perfect couldn’t recommend more.

Positive: What a wonderful family, and clean & spacious room, surrounded by greenery and the sound of a stream in the background. I was sick during my stay and the eldest daughter ordered a taxi for me and came with me to the hospital where she waited for two hours until I could leave. They also arranged for a great driver called Vali to pick me up in Samarkand, and afterwards to bring me to Bukhara. I returned to this place a second time, and the family welcomed me back with big hugs. Their food is also excellent.

Negative: The communication is sometimes a bit tricky but with Google translate and free wifi, it’s not an issue.

Summary: A wonderful family, great food and a clean room all surrounded by nature.
