Positive: This place on a quiet street was friendly and comfortable. There were several couches in the common areas, as well as the glassed in breakfast room, for relaxing. The staff was very nice and helpful.
Negative: For a new user to WhatsApp it was a little confusing to communicate when staff wasn’t on duty - but they walked me through it and were very helpful.

Positive: Clean with a great view over Cusco. Good sized rooms. Kitchenette was a bonus but missing a lot of essential items.
Negative: Contacting staff was completely hit or miss. There was supposed to be 24 hr staff but most of the time they were not present and contacting by whatsapp was not consistent. Great view but heed all other reviews of it being up a hill. Hard work in thin air!

Positive: We booked up ILLA B&B as we liked the look of the guest house and weren’t disappointed when we got there. Overall it is a lovely place to stay with the best views of Cusco by far! Both in the morning or the evening you can sit down and enjoy the view that stretches for miles. The room we stayed in was a family room (one double and a bunk bed for the kids) and it was ample for our needs. One time when we weren’t able to make breakfast as we were leaving for a trip early next morning, Aaron made us a packed lunch the night before which was very thoughtful. We booked up a few trips while there and all the guides were able to find us which was a bonus. Please note: Getting up to the guest house from the main square you do need to acclimatise yourself and take it easy as it is quite a trek. Don’t rush as you will feel it. But the views are so worth it.
Negative: When we arrived at the guest house there was no text message or no-one to let us in. I’d been in touch a day or two before and had no reply. I even called while outside the property and no-one answered. In the end some other guests actually let us in which we found a little awkward as you doubted yourself whether the booking had gone through in the first place! It was only when a kind guest called them that we finally got through. It was all fine in the end but not the best start when you arrive tired and you hope for a smooth transition. It you book this guest house please insist they send you all the information way beforehand so that you’re not stuck like we were. The autonomous process of checking in is fine as long as it is managed properly by the property, otherwise you’ll leave guests disappointed.

Positive: Such a friendly place in the center of Cusco! From the communication beforehand Elodie & team were extremely kind. The self-check-in went smooth and was very convenient as my flight arrived late. I liked the beautiful rooms of the old house with courtyard, and especially the amazing view of Plaza de Armas and Cusco from the breakfast room. The location is very central, a 5-7 min short (but steep) walk up from the main square and not too far from Saqsaywaman, which you can reach when you continue up the hill. The very simple breakfast was a welcome extra.

Positive: The rooms are very comfortable! There is such a beautiful landscape of the city from the main hall! And it's also very easy to go to the Plaza de Armas, you just have to walk a little on a hill but you will get used to that.
Negative: The breakfast can be better. There was not many options of fruits, and the bread was cold when we had it.
