Private 300sqft 1 bedroom non-smoking guest suite in Oakland's Ivy Hill Neighborhood. Very close to transit. Less than 15 minute walk to Lake Merritt, Highland Hospital and the Lakeshore/Grand Farmer's market. Enjoy all that Oakland has to offer!
Located directly beneath the bedrooms of other units, and best suited to those who are quiet at night.
The space: Bedroom contains a full sized bed, lamp, end table with cell phone charging port and and a desk. A small twin cot or a pack and play can also be requested with your booking.
Living/dining area contains a couch, TV, side table, lamp and dining table.
Full kitchen has all the basics and contains a full-sized oven and apartment sized fridge. Coffee and creamer for your first 1-2 days is provided.
Newly updated, spacious bathroom contains a deep bathtub.
Outdoor garden area contains a gas BBQ, picnic table, and is fully enclosed. When the loquat or apricot trees are in bloom - please help yourself! There is also an area at the front of the house with a fig tree. It blooms in waves, and you are welcome to pick any black, soft, ripe figs that you see. Please do not eat apricots, kumquats, or vegetables you may find in the back yard, but do feel free to use the sage, oregano, mint and rosemary.
*Please note that there are a few steps to get inside the gate on the property which can be circumvented by using the double gate, and a small step between each room inside the unit. Ceiling clearance in the bedroom is lower than in the other rooms, and taller guests should consider this before booking.
Guest access: Street parking can usually be found within a block or 2. Parking is free/unmetered. Street sweeping occurs 2x's per month.
Other things to note:
We live in the unit above, but only our bedrooms are directly above your unit. The toddler usually sleeps through the night, but you may hear him cry at times, because that's what toddlers do!
Quiet hours are 10p-9a on weekends, and 9p-8a on weekdays. During these times, electronics may be used at low to moderate volume, but please refrain from loud conversations as there are bedrooms right above you.
There is no laundry on premises , but there is a laundromat nearby and a service called Rinse which will pick up and drop off your laundry for a fee. Bedding and towels provided by the host may be left for the host to wash for guests every 10 days if desired.
