Summary: The property is reached from one of the narrow streets of this very old town, but there is a small balcony at the back of the apartment that overlooks the river gorge and the mountains beyond. It appears to be a very old building, but was clean and tidy, and enjoyably quirky in its layout. Although small, the kitchen was perfectly adequate for our purposes and the shower room was very good - there was an unlimited supply of very hot water! The proprietor, Olivier, was extremely friendly and helpful.

Summary: What an exceptional village in the Alps-Maritimes! We only stayed a week but in that time felt so much at home. A lively community (Fete de Bois followed by UltraTrail on successive weekends), a friendly community, good services (terrific boulangerie at Petite Suisse) and beautiful local walks. And our accommodation was simply perfect, down the bottom of the main street (Doctor Cagnoli) just a short stroll the beautiful Place de General de Gaulle. Comfortable adjustable bed with the sound of the river Vesubie to help us off to sleep (although the mountain air is good for that as well!). A small terrace overlooking the river, with wonderful mountain views. The wifi was a bit iffy but worked OK in different parts of the apartment. Antique furniture (family heirlooms), populated by lots of old teddy bears and a myriad of old clocks that have all stopped at different times - the house where time stood still. Olivier & Pascale were the perfect hosts, there to welcome and farewell, but otherwise unobtrusive unless we called. Would love to return...

Summary: We stayed for six nights in September, to enjoy walking in the mountains. We had a good time. St Martin is an excellent centre. Olivier made us very welcome and was helpful and businesslike. The property is well located in the historic part of the village, within easy walking distance of shops and restaurants. Being in an old building, several of the rooms are dark, although the main bedroom has an excellent view. The property is well above the main road, so is quiet. There are a few small things which would make the property better: hooks in the bathroom; bin bags and more knives in the kitchen.
