The Musky Inn is a historic 110 year old log lodge, rumored to be the oldest building in st. Germain. The lodge sits on the shared property of deer run resort. The inn faces west for spectacular year long sunsets and lake views. The property features the rare find of level frontage to a beautiful beach with sand bottom & shallow access to the lake for great swimming. Huge pier for all your water toys.

The lodge has been completely and lovingly restored over 2014. Everything is newly updated, but retains the up north charm & simplicity that vacationers seek. You will be sharing the breathtaking pine woods setting with roaming deer, singing loons, spectacular eagles, ducks & their ducklings. Bring a few bread crumbs along and your children will have an afternoon of fun feeding the eager babies.
The added bonus, not found anywhere else in the area, is a jaw dropping outdoor deck/patio/covered private bar that will be featured on discovery channel's new show 'epic bars'. In the yard you will find a fire pit for your evening marshmallow roasting & storytelling. Walk a few more steps & you find a children's play area, beach, 3 docks, fish house, volleyball court.

Summary: Took a quick trip up north with family for New Years weekend. Snow didn’t cooperate for sledding but the house did not disappoint. We rented the south unit and the adjoining 3 bedrooms. Location was perfect for our needs. House was very clean and had all of the north woods charm we love. Each room had little added touches for a nice homey feel. Kitchen was fully stocked with everything we needed. Plenty of space to spread out when we needed a little time apart and perfect space for all of us to sit around the table for a meal or to play a few games. Host was very responsive with any questions and even reached out a few times during our stay to see if we needed anything. Would definitely book again!

Summary: It’s a big lake house with lots of rooms filled with lots of really poor beds. The floors were pretty dirty, like my socks were black from walking around. The pics show a pool table, which is actually a busted up foosball table. Kitchen was good size and plenty of refrigerator space. We stayed here in winter to go snowmobiling. The trail is right there and tons of options including the lake! In the summer I’m sure the bar would be awesome but we had no opportunity to use since it was winter.

Summary: Great place for a big group of friends. Loads of space for all sorts of activities. We had perfect weather and spent much of our time outside, but we could all pile into the living room and watch tv, sneak away to quiet spaces to do work/yoga/read and cook for a large group in the kitchen.

Summary: Our experience was not what we expected. Key pad number not provided, had to call owner. Not notified lake had “Swimmers Itch”. Could not utilize the beach area and 2 kids got the rash on their legs. No pots and pans to cook with. Place was not cleaned very well, lots of spiders, dead flies and dust. The floors were filthy and if you walked barefoot your feet were black. Squeaky upstairs floors, one shower did not work and tubs did not drain. Kids found glass pieces and a rusty nail in the sand by the swing set. Check out time was confusing one site said 10 am and another said 9am. Will not be back.

Summary: I rented this cabin for a birthday up north with friends and we absolutely loved it. It’s spacious, fit all of our needs and now holds some really great memories. I highly recommend a stay!

Summary: There was 20 of us. 12 kids ranging from baby up to 15. We had the south side of the house. Directions that Jim gave us were exact. Check in was a breeze. Very spacious house. We were fortunate with nice weather on a March day, and were able to use the firepit. Fully stocked with everything you need to cook and or grill out. I even did laundry. Only complaint is that I wish we could rent it in the summer :) Thanks Jim for makinng our stay effortless. Everyone in our group had a great time! We are hoping to make this a yearly get together!

Summary: First of all the location is perfect to snowmobile you can literally park your sleds right outside the house. The only slight issue we had was parking because of all the trailers that we and the neighbors had. Both a unit we rented and unit adjoining with us had about five families and each one. And each adult had their own snowmobile which made for a lot of trucks and trailers to figure out parking. But they were very nice and we figured it out. The place is huge on the inside with plenty of space for families to spread out and have room including wonderful space to store all your helmets and snowmobile gear when you get in from a ride. The only thing that may be a problem for some people is it connects directly to the unit which seems to be about the same size as the one that we stayed in which is very large. And you can hear right through the walls and the doors that separate the two units. For us it wasn’t a problem because we were probably just as loud as the other side with all of our kids. And we talked with them and both of us said the same thing, if either group got too loud then just let the other ones know. But there are three bedrooms that have connecting walls to the other unit so I would recommend bringing earplugs and a white noise maker if you’re a light sleeper and have to stay in those bedrooms .The kitchen was fully stocked with lots of dishes and pans that we would need. Even though the details in the listing say to bring your own toilet paper, They had a starting Amount when we got there and it lasted us all the long weekend. The house itself was fairly clean for a lake lodge style house. The landing going to be upstairs had a few dead flies on it and we found someone else’s socks and a fruit rollup behind some beds. But that was more just an oversight of Housekeeping. Overall the house is exactly what you expect from the wooded area in Wisconsin. The owner was wonderful to deal with! We would absolutely stay here again!! Great location great amount of space absolutely perfect for what you plan to do. We would love to stay up here for a week during the summer time as well, since we didn’t get to enjoy the outdoor bar and beach.
