Negative: Self check in unclear instructions. Staff did not greet us the next morning while we sat around wondering if we were getting breakfast.
Summary: Comfy room but staff said I was rude as left for breakfast elsewhere as they were too busy to greet us

Positive: The place advertised marvelous hot breakfast. When we got there asked what time breakfast was served and was told ‘the owner discontinued it several months ago due to cost. All we have is a plate of cookies at 7:30, but there are breakfast places 2 mins away.’ I’m a runner and can tell you those places were 20 mins walk away down a steep hill and another 20 plus back, a 2 hour waste of our trip. Was also told they’d have coffee at 7:30. Went down and at 740 called only to find out ‘730 is when the coffee person walks in the door…not when the coffee was ready. Disgusted we got in the car and drove to a place in town. I told Michael this place is using false advertising. He was nice and gave me one of our 3 nights at half off. The thing is I’d rather have had the hot breakfast, as advertised.
Negative: Provide the breakfast as advertised …and the steep hill so far from the Main Street.
Summary: If I had it to do over would stay at the historic Hood R Hotel w its next door breakfast/$15 parking

Negative: bathroom down the hall no coffee in room (although coffee pot/filters/sugar all provided) breakfast (i.e.pastries) not served until after 7:45am (there was no info about when to expect breakfast & coffee) hot tub out of commission no staff on site

Negative: Someone had a dog that barked off and on. It’s very easy to hear people talking in other rooms. This was distracting.

Positive: It’s an absolutely beautiful place to stay and the room was very cozy. We would recommend it to anyone with a bit of warning to them about a few things.
Negative: The Gorge Room advertises a private bathroom, however you must walk through the dining room to get there which wasn’t comfortable to do in the morning while people were eating breakfast. Also, it was difficult to access our room using the code; not very user friendly. We couldn’t get into the house using the side door from the hot tub & had to go around to the front door of the house by the street. And while sitting outside on the side porch was comfortable, it was annoying that the sensor spotlight continued to come on every time we moved.
Summary: Would definitely return, and a few changes would turn our “Good” rating to “Perfect”.
