Island Horizons sits on the flank of Bordeaux Mountain on St. John ~ one of the loveliest islands in the Caribbean. The villa is centrally located 12 minutes from St. John's fabulous North Shore beaches, 12 from the quieter South Shore and also from the secluded East End beaches. From its two verandas almost 700ft/ 200+ m above the sea, the view extends from the waters of Coral Bay across St. John's East End and down the Drake Channel to Virgin Gorda 40 miles away. The islands seem to float between sky and sea in a succession of horizons.
Island Horizons is a bright and beautiful villa that was specially designed to optimize this spectacular vista from the two 62 ft/20 m covered verandas and every room in the house as well as from the secluded pool and its adjacent sundeck. You can lay in bed admiring the view from the two air-conditioned bedrooms at either end of the villa's main floor -- one King and the other with Twin beds that can make up into a King. Both feature sliding glass doors opening onto the veranda and have an attached bathroom with large tile/stone shower. The great room at the center of the main floor features three sets of sliding glass doors opening onto the veranda and the island horizons beyond. It contains a well-equipped gourmet kitchen, living and dining areas, a powder room, and washer/dryer units. The large outside gas grill will delight the chef and dining on the veranda overlooking the sea and island horizons will leave all with an enduring memory. Now featuring new Tesla Powerwall for solar backup during an outage!
A covered stairway leads to the second level with a King bedroom and a Queen/Twin bunk room with a shared bathroom. Each bedroom has AC as well. This level offers the same great bedside view and sliding glass doors that open onto a second 62 ft/ 20 m veranda.
Finally, the third level provides the same spectacular views from the secluded salt pool and sundeck. The covered shaded area of the deck offers shelter from the sun while the sundeck surrounded with colorful tropical gardens is ideal for sunbathers. Island inspired murals enhance the pool deck and there is a new TV and Game Room to keep the whole family entertained.
A vehicle with 4WD and good clearance is required for the road leading to the villa.

Power is provided to St. John via an underground cable from St. Thomas. Our power supply is not always reliable and power outages are not uncommon. They are typically short lived, but can last for a few hours. These outages can happen with or without warning from the islandโ€™s power company, known as WAPA. We will do our best to keep you comfortable and informed. Antares strives to make your villa stay as comfortable and trouble free as possible. Please understand that power outages are out of our control. Please note, water will not work during an outage. There are no refunds for power loss.

Summary: My family of four had a wonderful stay at Island Horizons. The house was very clean, well-stocked, and the beds were very comfortable. The bedrooms all have A/C but there is no A/C in the main living and kitchen areas. We did not find this to be a problem even during a pretty hot week in June, since the breezes are great. The house is on a pretty steep hill, like most places in St. John, so as most reviewers noted, you will need a Jeep or 4WD vehicle to access the property. But the view is incredible and worth the effort. A few good notes: the pool is great for smaller kids as there is a shallow end and a deep end (4 ft. max); also, the location of the house is good, the center of Coral bay is just down the hill (5 minutes, although not really walkable) and so there's a market and a few good restaurants/bars right there. It's only a 20 minute or so drive to most of the best north side beaches. Cruz bay is about 25-30 minutes, but mainly because of the windy roads. A few other things to note: there is a gas grill but it's seen better days, so we purchased those disposable aluminum pans to make it work. The second floor is also not accessible from inside the house, you have to use the outside (covered) staircase, which is a little different. Overall, we loved our trip to St. John and did some of the best snorkeling yet. We'd definitely stay at Island Horizons again!

Summary: This was our first time on St John, and it was a wonderful experience! The house was perfect, & had everything we needed; kitchen supplies, beach supplies, games, books, toiletries, etc. The house is a short drive to numerous beautiful beaches, and just uphill from the market & a few restaurants and bars. The driveway was STEEP, but everything else on the island is, too!! Seriously don't attempt it without a 4WD vehicle. Our only hiccup was meeting our greeter; she had told us something different than what was in the email instructions, and with no cell service, there was some confusion. I REALLY appreciated the Antares Team reaching out to me before our trip, to give advice on rental cars, notification of cell service being sparse, and all the other tips and instructions they gave. It made our stay MUCH more enjoyable.

Summary: Island horizons was the perfect vacation villa for our family of 7, our two adult children and their spouses, our 2 year old grandson, my husband and me. The views are incredible. The house is stocked with everything you could want for a beach vacation, coolers, chairs, floats, and sun shade. We have stayed at this property several times before and it is even more comfortable and beautiful than before. Antares staff always communicated clearly and were very helpful! The only thing I needed but couldn't find was a cutting board!

Summary: We loved Island Horizons ! Caroline was easy to work with and the house was ready for us. The views are amazing!! We had a small group, so being away from everything was ok. But if you like to be near restaurants (a few at the bottom of the hill, but closed most of the time and or very busy and turned away our orders which is understandable) or near shopping, this place is a little off the beaten path and will take about 25 minutes to get back into town but that's why we liked it :) You will need a jeep to get in and out of the house drive way. A car will not make it, especially if it's raining! The ac in the middle level bedrooms did not work well and in July it's tough. The breeze is good coming through at night though. I would stay again, maybe in the "cooler" months (December, January) less humid. The team was on top of a few concerns we had and that was appreciated. Loved it , will be back again !

Summary: We experienced a spectacular week in paradise! Island Horizons was the perfect home away from home. We couldnโ€™t have asked for more. We enjoyed our early morning coffee watching the sunrise from our third-floor deck, lazy afternoons swimming in the pool and cooking our meals in the fully equipped kitchenโ€ฆgreat to use the grill too. Every room has a spectacular view of Coral Bay. Trunk Bay is one of the most beautiful beaches we have ever been to. Great to have beach chairs, coolers and quality towels all provided. Caroline, the property manager, was very helpful with recommendations for both restaurants and places to go. Our family would definitely stay here again!

Summary: Family of 5 went for some family time. This home was amazing - perect location - amazing views - clean, clean clean - All the beds were comfortable - Kiitchen had everything you need - 2 Family rooms - outdoor pool - breeze from the bay coming in from all the windows and all the patio doors ( 7 DOORS FACING THE BAY) with the tropical birds was so cool - Shawna our house manager was so helpful with the check in and took extra time giving us the ins and outs of the island which really helped a lot, we felt like family - the management company kept an eye on us making sure we were good and if we needed anything - they also provided beach chairs - coolers to use which was really handy - The neighbors - which you can't see - but when you go for a walk all the neighbors were really freindly. Perfect VRBO - Thank you so much for all the memories - Resturants and grocery store not even 5 minutes down the hill - sunrise and sunsets are magical!

Summary: Arriving after dark was a hair-raising experience along the narrow, wind-y roads leading to the property. However, our greeter was wonderful and helped us along by phone and in person. The house and gardens were lovely, spacious, and clean. The view was gorgeous and everything was as promised. We even mastered the hairpin turns after a couple of days. We'd all come back in a heartbeak.
