2 Bedroom Cottage in Surf City

Hidden treasure is an island style beach cottage situated amongst beautiful old oak trees. The house is located on a quite lane about a block long that has the ocean at one end and the sound at the other. Though we are on an interior lot, it is just steps (approximately 80 yards) to either the private beach access or to the small ramp that you have access to the sound from. The cottage itself was fully renovated in 2008-- the interior was gutted and the entire space was redone. It has an open floor plan for the living and kitchen area and all areas look out to the trees. A screened porch and a rear deck can both be accessed from the main living area. A deck lines one side of the house that leads from the screened porch to the covered front porch. Sitting on the screened porch is like being in a tree house-- branches arch gracefully all around you providing a pathway for squirrels and birds to bound from one to another. You can hear the ocean most days from this spot-- it is relaxation at its best. The cottage is about 900 square feet but feels larger because of the open floor plan and raised ceiling height in the living room. The floors are tile through out-- which is easy to clean. The two bedrooms provide sleeping for four-- one has a queen bed the other has a full size. Again it is hard to describe how wonderful it feels waking up to the sound of birds and the ocean and seeing the tree branches surrounding you. Totally relaxing!! Hidden Treasure is perfect for a family getaway, a couples retreat, or girls week away.

Summary: We love this place! Cozy, comfortable, a relaxing respite from the busy world. Access to the ocean and the sound can’t be beat. Cottage is sparkling clean and has the most amazing screened porch up among the beautiful live oak tree branches.

Summary: We had a wonderful time. The home is located in a great neighborhood. It is very secluded however is close to everything. We had a great time cycling, kayaking and relaxing.

Although at this time (Mar) the access was blocked due to some project on the beach, Property was comfortable, well lived in, does allow pets - so to be expected. Was surprised by last minute notification that I would need to bring towels and linens - or add’l charge. Owner was available by text - no issues with communication.

Summary: We’ve been to Topsail Island, Carolina Beach and the Outer Banks dozens of times over the past 15 years. Nearly all were beachfront. This spot tops nearly all. Surrounded by oaks, yet 5 minutes by foot to the ocean, this makes you want to live at the beach rather than vacay. Highly recommended!
