Positive: The code was emailed on the day. Pretty easy to follow where to go. The main door was opened and friendly staff manned the office. You need your phone light to see the code at the door. I liked it was just a minute from the side entrance of the train station. Very handy if coming from the airport. There’s a little supermarket around the corner. Bed was super comfy.

Negative: Bathroom could do with hooks & a shelf for toiletries. As mentioned, bring an eye mask for sleeping as only a sheer curtain.

Negative: Stupid check in system. Cannot accept China or Hong Kong as Citizenship which made the check-in impossible through internet. Even worse, the check-in time is from 1500 hours to 2200 hours but we arrive at 1930 and found staff all gone. Finally we stayed outside the entrance gate for more one and half hour to find the way of check-in. What’s a terrifying check-in experience!!

Positive: Very nice, I was pleasantly surprised. Beautiful room and very clean. The bed was very comfortable (though a second pillow would've been nice!) The location was also perfect for my purposes (conference at a nearby university). I walked almost everywhere or took the metro or tram (the tram is great for seeing the city, although it's a bit unreliable as it often takes longer than scheduled). The neighbourhood is beautiful and the station is really close, which is nice. (I wasn't personally bothered by the occasional train noises at all, but if you're really sensitive to noise, maybe take earplugs). The hotel uses codes to get in, which was practical as you don't have to worry about forgetting or losing your key; however, as a solo female traveller I personally sometimes feel a bit unsafe with codes because you never know who else has them, so I additionally blocked the door with a travel door stop/alarm.

Negative: Some small problems with the room: My bathroom door didn't close all the way, let alone lock, but it wasn't a problem for me because I was traveling alone anyway. My window shutter also broke the first night and they said at the front desk that someone would come to fix it, but no one came. Because there was an extra curtain, the broken shutter wasn't a big deal either though. Also, my room was only accessible via a type of balcony that you had to take steep and narrow stairs up to (no elevator for this specific room), and it was quite difficult to carry my luggage up there.

Positive: I liked that the hotel is literally outside of Cardona train station and Parco Sempione (Castello) . Lots of restaurants around , the room was clean and it was very quiet during the night . The fast check in online was great because instead of doing it in person on the day of your arrival , you just fill up the online form before you travel and then you will receive the codes to get in the property at the time of your supposed check in . The staff was extremely friendly , professional and helpful . If I could advise one thing is to make sure you try your code to get in the hotel as soon as you arrive and when the staff is still there (if you arrive before 9pm) , if you are going back to your room after a night out and no staff is around (after 9pm) . My code to get in the building didn’t work but fortunately a couple who was getting back , let me in , so I was lucky . Overall , I had a very good experience and I will definitely book this hotel again in the future .
